Does anyone in the know know when Revell will announce their 2nd half 2011 new releases? IIRC from last year and years past, it was always around May 1st....of course, many of the 1st half 2011 new releases are delayed until the 2nd half of the year, but that's expected..

Well, the sensation (for some) from Revell AG is their 1/24 scale Routemaster RML announced for November.

Rest is lukewarm. They did a new tool 2CV of all things, and other rather pointless stuff, as usual.

I saw the Routemaster and 2CV announcement..surprising considering Tamiya did the 2CV also years ago. I thought I saw the Routemaster was going to be 1:32nd. I see they are also doing an Audi R8 Spyder..looking forward to that. And reissuing the Merc 300SLR coupe..I have the open version, the coupe will be nice to have.

I would like to know when the 1/12 Mustang GT-500 is going to be released, too, so hopefully Revell will update their website within the new few weeks. B)

Originally, I'd seen April 29th on some vendor sites, but the latest intel I've heard is late summer or fall...

According to the flyer at my LHS, the new automotive releases for May are the SS version of the '62 Impala and the Jungle Jim Vega F/C. The new kits for April arrived a few days ago, and the only new automotive kit was the U.S. version of the Revell AG Ferrari California closed top.

A couple online vendors are now showing the '62 Impala SS for July, so who knows...

For them, June, more likely. The LHS flyers were for the Preferred Partner program, where shops get new releases a couple of weeks before everyone else. So, my guess is the Impala will be available in PP retailers next month and from others in early June.

Yeah, like w/ the COPO Nova...my PP LHS got it in late March while OLDs got it in April..

A couple months back I traded some Emails w/Ed Sexton, he mentioned April for the next round of announcements, so I imagine it will be soon. Sounds like there may be some very interesting stuff coming. But in the meantime I have a Falcon and CRZ to build...talk about two vastly different subjects :)

I had heard earlier this year from a good source, that Revell may be tooling up a NEW '57 Ranchero or Ranch wagon. Whether it will be issued this year or next is anybody's guess??? In the meantime I have plenty of plastic to work on, so if it comes into fruitation or not, it won't make a difference to me one way or another.

I have a friend who works at Revell (along with his wife) and he mentioned to me that a 56 Ford P/U might be coming our way. I asked him if it would be a reissue or new tool and he couldn't confirm, but the way he worded his email I tend to think he was talking about a new tooling. We'll have to wait and see.

WOW. Great news if both of these rumors are true, especially a new-tool '56 F100!

It might be an all-new '56 Ford Ranchero pickup tool.

I think the non-custom '57 Ranchero rumor(?) has been bantered about for a few years now, but I'm sure a lot of people would like to see it happen.

I suspect a '56 Ford pickup done much like the ex-Monogram 1/25 '50 Ford pickup would be a huge hit for Revell. Given Revell's history of creating new tooling for vintage pickups ('65 chevy, '41 Chevy, '37 Ford, etc.), a '56 Ford would fall right in line.

Well here's a fun bit off the "getting started" tab at Revell.com, anyway:

A 1:32 2010 Mustang?? When did this come about?

But that 1:32 is finished just like one of the initial 1:25 build-ups, isn't it? So maybe they just reduced the size of the pic for illustration's sake...

Interesting...well, they did do a 1:32nd kit of the '07 Shelby a few years ago, so maybe they are trying that scale again..

I'd love to see it, too. That old '56 Ford pickup tooling is well past retirement age.

A new-tool '56 would be interesting. I'd like to see something that hasn't been done before in scale in Ford trucks, like a '67-72 F-series or the new Raptor.

As I understand it, the Deux Chevaux is not a new tool. It is the 1980s vintage Airfix/Heller tooling. And if you've ever seen (or built) that kit, it ain't a bad thing at all. It is a later (1970s-80s) 2CV, whereas Tamiya's is a 1963 edition.

A new '57 Ranchero or Country Squire would indeed be welcomed (or both!,) and a '56 F-100 might also be interesting.

Charlie Larkin

Do the Rsnchero and Country Squire share the same wheelbase, i.e., could Revell release modified version of one (similar chassis, engine, suspension, etc.) to get a second marketable kit?

Argh, as long as Revell is revisiting older subjects let's see a new '67 Camaro and '67-'72 Chevy truck.

yes they do share the same wheelbase. 116' wheelbase on both.

Well, my friends, I'm happy to say I was incorrect about the 2CV being the older (but still excellent) Airfix/Heller offering. Thanks to our friend Luc Janssens, it is confirmed that the Revell Germany 2CV is an all-new, full-detail kit representing a 1981 edition of the car.

While this is good news, I still find myself wishing for an older, 1953 or so version of the Deux Chevaux in 1/24 scale. Maybe some day....!

That would be interesting..I'd love to see a DS and SM in 1/24th..
