brewsterg6 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I Stayed up last night and finished this two year long project. I leave tomorrow for the VCCA Anniversary/Chevrolet 100th show in Flint. Here's the results. It looks really green in the pictures, but is not so bright in person.
charlie8575 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Bruce, I've enjoyed watching this come along, and I must say, the results are spectacular. This is a very nice build. Perhaps a couple of outdoors pictures to better show the color might be a good idea? Charlie Larkin
Jon Cole Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Nice, showroom fresh Chevy! I assume you have, or had a car like this?
Harry P. Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I don't know how accurate the green shows in the photos, but it sure looks good to me! Very nice all the way around... the attention to detail is obvious!
Guest Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 That is one of the nicest (if not the nicest) '50 Chevies I've ever seen! Great work all the way around!
deathskull59 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 now thats the baddest of the baddest 50s chevys ive seen. very nice car you got.
Sixties Sam Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Beautiful! Really well done model. Good color selection and engine detail! Sam
oldscool Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I've been waiting to see this one finished and it is worth the wait. Fantastic work! gus
brewsterg6 Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the comments, guys... I'll get some outdoor pictures next week. I have finished painting the top boot cover, and BMFed the rad cap. Jon, I do own the real deal as well. It is in my profile pic. Dad found it in 1972, and has passed it down to me. Alyn Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Nice work. The car has the look of realism that every modeler should strive for. It's begging for a photo shoot with a good back drop.
bsoder Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Beautifully done!...nice to have such a great referance available
Chuck Most Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Love the color, even if it is a little less bright in person, and the subtle but nicely done changes to convert it to a '50 model. Just plain yummy!
Jim Gibbons Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I also enjoyed following its progress, and it came out beautifully. Well done.
Dr. Cranky Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Love the engine bay, lots of great details. Nice job!
David G. Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Very nice! I love these stock builds. Good work on this one. David G.
LAone Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 thats a beauty. i like this one very much. nice details and the color just screams classic. 10 thumbs up!
kenlwest Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Nice job on the ol' Chevy! I like the real one too! BTW, this is the first car model I have seen that shows the wiper'ed windshield - and I really like the effect; adds realism and it takes the plasticky look out of it. This was a fairly common thing back then before the days of wiper washer systems. Dirt is an effective abrasive! Have fun in Flint! Ken
