The Lincoln is currently sitting at a local dealership awaiting the final paperwork making it theirs. I will the step in a buy said Lincoln. It is literally the car owned by the little ol lady from Pahrump Nevada. She can no longer drive and relinquished the car. I went through that with my mother. It's a sad day as the elder gives up his/her independence, but someone else receves a good deal on a car.

Yes Jonathan, I love my Lincoln's. I was hoping to have it before this weekend and take it on a good shakedown cruise to your place. I don't think that'll happen.

Charlie my 2005 Town Car has got to be the best car I have ever owned. I bought it new as a retirement gift from me to me and it has been a wonderful experience.

Carl I understand the desire for a 300, but if it's a good car you have to keep it. We have a 2005 Honda Civic MrsG bought new that has low miles. Until we married she never lived more than 5 miles from her casino. Paid for, reliable and economical we're keeping it until the wheels fall off.

That's what I keep hearing about the Town Cars. Best car ever made, or pretty close to it.

I have a good Lincoln story from my family.

In mid-1970, after the new Continentals were released, my Uncle Al, who was a tile installer, and would literally travel to his job and back the same day, no matter where it was, needed a new car.

Fore River Lincoln-Mercury in Quincy had a 1970 Continental that was owned by a mobster. Apparently, nobody had exactly what he wanted on hand (Fore River or any of the other nearby dealers), and he bought a car that was pretty close to what he wanted while his was on-order.

I mid-late May, the wiseguy's car arrived, and Fore River give him full (or pretty close to it) credit back on the car he drove for a couple of months. However, as it had just enough mileage on it to not be able to be sold as new (along with previous registered ownership- no titles in Massachusetts until 1971 or '72), Uncle Al was able to get that very slightly-used Lincoln for less than the new Mercury he was planning on getting.

Uncle Al put tremendous mileage on that car- well in excess of 300,000 in about nine or ten years, as his jobs literally took him all over New England, and always back home to Wollaston Beach (a section of Quincy) every night- no matter how far away. He had once told my dad that aside from the gas mileage, that Lincoln was the absolutely most economical car he'd ever owned- never needing anything aside from regular maintenance.

So, yeah....I think the next car will be a Lincoln.

A guy I went to school with owns a limo company. He says much of his Town Car fleet has over 500,000 miles on them. Mainly airport runs on highways. Last I spoke to him he had no idea what he'd be replacing them with as they expired. He couldn't think of a suitable Ford product.

Daily driver is a 1985 Mustang coupe. 2.3L C-3 trans, Ranger tube header, Thrush glass-pac, 2.73 gears, Eastwood Royal Blue (sprayed in the front yard), 114,xxx miles.....yeah, it's slow. But it runs great and still fun to drive. Will be better when I put a 4-speed manual trans in next year.

Here is my ride, bought it almost new in 2005. its a 2004 Chrysler Sebring LXI. 44,4oo miles. Still enjoy driving it....

Nice Sebring, my Grandpa has an '04 Sebring LX with 32,000 miles approximatley (53,000 kms)

He loves it, drives it and keeps the truck in the garage now.

Here is my current collection.

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 6 spd manual, leveled in the front, 35's, AFE intake, MBRP exhaust, Edge chip, my daily driver. Custom plate front bumper built by me.

1970 Datsun 521 pickup, L20b 5 spd swap, lowered 4", Chevy blazer 4x4 wheels, Weber carb, header, custom exhaust.

1967 Mustang Coupe, long term restoration/ pro touring project. Shelby/ Eleanor body conversion including the Eleanor nose, Shelby GT500 hood, Eleanor side scoops, GT500 tail light panel and spoiler. Mustang II tubular front suspension, rack and pinion steering, narrowed 9" rear end, 4 link and coil over rear suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, custom backspaced Shelby 427 17" wheels, will be Pepper Gray metallic with black Shelby stripes, black deluxe interior, 383 ci small block Ford Windsor, Tremec TKO600 5 spd trans. Yes I have pics to back up all the work lol, thanks for looking.
