DodgeAddict Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I've never owned a SquareBack but I've always loved them since I was a child There's one on my bucket list though The only ones I've ever seen were rusted beyond what labor I wanted to do & I don't mind doing the labor
lordairgtar Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Xarana-X, I drove a square back through the southwest that had a Porsche engine in it in the 70s. Wicked fast. I was picked up hitch hiking and the owner let me drive it. My favorite of the variants was the rarely seen notchback.
W-409 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 We just bought this one, a '87 Chevy Van with 6,2 Liter Diesel engine. It's pretty nice and clean and we'll use it as a Race Car Hauler and in December when I get my driver's license it'll be my daily driver...

Mizozuman2 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Currently, I'm driving nothing... So, I'll just tell you what my (Logical) Dream vehicle is. 99-02 Chevy/GMC Crew Cab Short bed with a 6.0L in Red, Black, or Blue. CAI Exhaust EFI Live Basically things that would help me to haul things, without having to move up to a Diesel, or the humongous 8.1L. it would also be a Daily Driver. Later though, when I'm not doing the ranch hand work I'm doing now, I'd like to add on some real "Go Fast" parts to the engine, and beef up the drivetrain. (Turbo, Intake Manifold, LT Headers, injectors, stronger internals... Etc.) (Yes, I'm 17. No I'm not a "street racing hooligan"(I've had a friend killed because of someone's ignorance and street racing). No, I'm not a "moocher" off my Mom. This truck and everything associated with it would be paid for by me, and only me.)
Lunajammer Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Well it's good-bye to my dear 96 Mustang, this photo is from when I bought it 12-years ago. It's worn out now, girlfriend hates it because she can't drive a stick shift, bucket seats hurt her back and it can't carry dog crates. So last weekend I bought this PT Cruiser. It's a little fun but I'm really going to miss my rear wheel drive 5-spd. But, the queen loves it. I'd like to mod it and I love that there's a ton of clubs, forums, fan support and aftermarket gear for these cars.

Would it not of made sense to keep the mustang too?
Lunajammer Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Sorry for your loss. Hang in there. Would it not of made sense to keep the mustang too? At the moment, yes. But come summer it will have to find someone to invest in new head gaskets, shock mounts, 2 tires, radiator and/or heater core and a slew of lesser annoyances that still wouldn't please the "queen." More of an investment in the relationship than the vehicle. The 'stang has been a surprisingly reliable, durable and trouble free car over the years though.

Happy wife,happy life.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I hear that. Sounds like a smart decision. Happy wife, happy life. No wife, complete freedom. Girl doesn't 'get' my hobbies, cars or pets? "Next".
Rob Hall Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 No wife, complete freedom. Girl doesn't 'get' my hobbies, cars or pets? "Next". Yes..with women I've dated in the past, I haven't critiqued their car choice and they didn't mine. My money, my cars, my hobbies...their money, their cars, their hobbies.
Agent G Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 My problem was I married them, THEN found out they "didn't get it". I guess thats why I'm on #4. Thing is she "gets it" in a big way. My Town Car turned over 104,000 yesterday. So far so good. I keep looking for a replacement but nothing stacks up IMHO. G
cobraman Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 # 4 ? Are you glutton for punishment or what ? : ) I am on # 1 and it's been about 28 years. If something happened I don't think I would marry again.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 ... I keep looking for a replacement but nothing stacks up IMHO... That's the way I feel about my first ex. Seriously, I envy you guys who have happy long-term marriages. That was my plan in the beginning, but it just didn't work out that way.
charlie8575 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Girl doesn't 'get' my hobbies, cars or pets? "Next". Agreed. It got to the point on my personal ad that I wrote something to the effect of "my models, cameras, cars and books come as a package with me." Charlie Larkin

If something happened I don't think I would marry again. Yea, I'm still working on number one too... 32 years here. I don't know why she gets upset when I introduce her as my first wife?
Bill J Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I don't remember if I replied to this before or not. I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the 4-door Jeep. Always wanted a Jeep and since I am retired now, I figured I better buy one. 2 years and no problems, fun vehicle
Tom Geiger Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Last week I went to the website for my local Fiat dealer to schedule service for my daughter's Fiat 500 that she bought there. (Actually a really good car, 2 years never back to the dealer until now for an airbag light on. They fixed it no charge). Since I went to that website Fiat is stalking me.... they are in every ad on every website I go to this week! And the big problem? That Fiat 500 L 4 door is starting to look good. Somebody save me!
cobraman Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Do you really like the look of the 4 door version. ? Does it have a larger engine ?
Rob Hall Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Since I went to that website Fiat is stalking me.... they are in every ad on every website I go to this week! And the big problem? That Fiat 500 L 4 door is starting to look good. Somebody save me! It's interesting how much larger it is than the regular 500..even the badging is larger, I think..was behind one in traffic tonight..interesting how they intertwined the '500' and 'L'. Though I think they should have called it the '600' like the vintage minivan..
Tom Geiger Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Do you really like the look of the 4 door version. ? Does it have a larger engine ? What I meant is that I'm seeing it every where I look on the web... and it's kinda like how that ugly girl looks better with each beer! I do like my daughter's car. She has the 500 Lounge convertible. She loves it.
1930fordpickup Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Tom if you go to a Bathing Suit Company web site you will not see those Fiat adds.
Hickeydesign Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) 62 Ford Falcon, it's my daily driver. (no, I'm not the old guy in the photo) Edited March 27, 2014 by Hickeydesign
W-409 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 bet you must get a lot of looks over there driving that. nice looking chevy, very clean. looks like one my sister had, almost the same color! Yep it's a little different from what you see here normally, even though there are pretty much Chevy Vans here in Finland. In the '80s a company called Metro Auto delivered new Vans into Finland and yesterday I saw three of these. But most of the Chevy Vans you see here are not as nice as this one, as many of them are starting to get a bit rusty and there are some horrible looking equipment like spare tire cover, ladders or fender flares... I'm going to change the wheels. I want it to have gloss black Steel Wheels with Dog Dishes.
