uncle potts Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I have a 9x9 room, with a workbench piled so high that if I set one more thing on it, it'll slide off on the floor.
cmfowler Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I currently have the big upstairs room in my house for modeling. Stash is on one side with a Glass Corner desk, some pegboard and some corkboard glued to the wall. I enjoy the space, but look forward to when I can Build a Shop in the back yard.
2000-cvpi Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 My work area in the basement. I've had the table since I was twelve.

ToyLvr Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Hey Custom Mike: Where do I sign up for that "Sean Haters Club"? ;-) You know that old saying, "A Clean Desk is a Sign of a Sick Mind." Sean does some beautiful work, though. That man cave is really something!
freakshow12 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I cannot post a picture or they would condemn my model room lol
Misha Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I'm fortunate to have two separate rooms devoted to "The Hobby". One is a paint room with two benches, and the other is the modelling workbench room. The workbench is my father's old business double pedestal oak desk, which is now my tool crib. Been using it for the past twenty years. Looking around the room I realize that there are more w.i.p. examples than built ones in the cases! Isn't that the way. My next major addition after the holidays will be a Pace air extractor for the paint room. Recently moved up to an Iwata, while I still use my Pasche VL, and an Iwata Studio Compressor, sure makes life easier. I can run two lines with separate regulators. Converting the garage into a studio/workshop is nearing completion and will have built in display cases for all the Gearhead stuff. Cheers Misha
Misha Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Sorry about the upside down shots, new to this...
Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Sorry about the upside down shots, new to this... And there I just thought you had a bunch of stuff glued upside down on your wall!
deja-view Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Just an update with some recent progress on my new work area. The new desk: Hosted on Fotki And some adjustment of display areas: Hosted on Fotki and: Hosted on Fotki
mustang1989 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Man! Some of you guys have studios! I've got a room to myself inside the house for all of my building. Its better than it was at the beginning of last year when I re started this hobby. The first picture is when I started in January 2012: and then here's the current status of the bench. I don't forsee it growing much bigger than this but who knows? Compared to some of you guys on here its a quaint little space but it works for me right now. There's a guy named fermis in the modeling community on forums here and there who has entire ROOMS dedicated to his building / display space. Anyhow here goes: I don't know what is making my pics so grainy lately. Some are and some aren't but its really irritating when it happens.
DrKerry Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I DONT KNOW I CANT FIND IT LOL Ditto that!!!!!!
DrKerry Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Here is were I work on stuff. I'm in awe!!!!!!
Jeepgirl Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Had to move into a permanent space before the mother in law comes over for dinner tomorrow night. So off of the dining room table and into the spare room.

frozono Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hi every one, i was away taking care of my health. but I'm back............ I made an up grade on my work bench........ This is the old one............ The desk was bent in the middle and every thing was rolling down the desk........... Now this is the new set up............ New desk and book shelves........... Now I have everything organized and my wife is happy............
tubbs Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 lots of great work areas, guys. getting lots of great ideas for mine. a little history, I am a garbage picker, every piece of furniture or wood scrap you see in my room I got out of the trash or someone gave me. desks, mail slot thingie, old printer cover (how many remember those things!) I use as my paint booth, 2 drafting desks, most of the parts bins and even the lights. my wife calls me a junkman till I tell her how much stuff actually costs. so moving onward. I needed as much desk space as possible so here are a few shots of what it looked like and then more up to date shots. I am lucky as I do have a 16x16 room to do my stuff in and then just shut the door so the wife will not have to see the, what she calls a "disaster"..... here is where I am at. I have taken some 24x36 sheets of plywood and expanded the desktop area. any tips or ideas will be helpful in storing stuff. I know one thing, you can never have enough light!!
Tom Geiger Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Nuthin wrong with garbage pickin! It's come in fashion and called being green! My workbench is an old hollow core door that sits on two old night stands. Yes, all from the curb. My first display case is an old china cabinet that I grabbed from my sister, enroute to the curb. My smaller cabinet I swapped with my wife, because she liked the dark wood one I found at the curb. Earlier this year, we were on our way home and saw someone had thrown out 6 dining room chairs. I also had 4 old bentwood chairs I found earlier. I put them all on Craigs List one Saturday morning. By days end I had $250 cash I didn't have before!
cdan delivery Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Here is my inner sanctum (read: mess) Hope it's not too scary
