gasser59 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Oh this is going to be good. With the amount and quality of the photos provided plus your building skills will make this a winner for sure.
W-409 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 This is going to be very cool project. I remember when you posted alot of Older Drag Builds, and I can't wait to see this one.
comp1839 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 this should be a great build for you john!!!!!! can't wait to see it unfold.
Chris in Berwyn Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I saw this run at the Funny Car Reunion at Englishtown a few years ago. Boy did the whole car twist due to torque when he left the line!!
Dragracer Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Can't wait to see this build John, you do the "old" cars with a great passion & commitment
Pro Tech Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 John, this will be a cool build. I remember seeing this car when I was a kid at the Maryland tracks back in the day. Charlie Pro Tech
GoatGuy Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Count me in. I'll be watching what you do, and we all know it will be worth it. I will have more pics for your reference as soon as I can get them off the camera. I was at Bruce's again today for over three hours taking pics AND helping him fix the prototype of the 70 Camaro that he accidentally dropped. Fortunately most of the loose pieces were due to lack of glue or gluing areas that still had chrome. I got pics from different angles of the Camaro, Vette, and the Ivo dragster that I hadn't taken last time.
stump Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Another very interested bystander waiting to see where and to what level you take this John. I can feel an enormous win coming.
gtx6970 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Are you done yet. I want to do this one as well and will be watching closely
larrygre Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Looks like you have all the basics covered. The Logghe chassis in the Kenz & Leslie kit is right for the car. Replace the Ford SOHC with a good quality big block Chevy and you just about got it!
John Teresi Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 Hello......I started work on the chassis......I had to lengthen 3/8 of an inch........I dug out some rear daisy wheels and the right front wheels......I will scratch build some new shocks and I still need to do more modifications to the chassis.......I will scratch build new tins as well......I bought a 68 Corvette model.....I will use the big block engine for this build.......thanks for looking.
Burnout Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Looking good John but I was wondering about the Dyno Drags rig you've been working on? Did you finish it?
John Teresi Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Looking good John but I was wondering about the Dyno Drags rig you've been working on? Did you finish it? Hi Ken.......thanks for asking about the "Dyno Drags".......the decals are almost done.......a coulpe more days.......then I will apply them and clear coat everything......I have been working on this USA 1 Camaro.......because it was next on the bench.......so I thought I would get a head start on it.
Mooneyzs Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 John....this is going to be another one of your killer builds bud!! I will be following along on this journey. You will have this done in 3 weeks right... ... . you are off to a heck of a start and it looks great so far. love your work.
mcandela Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Ok, this is one I am not going to miss. Keep rolling John!!
Dragracer Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Nice start, the chassis is looking good, I'll be watching this as she comes to "life", the USA-1 was one of my favorite All-Chevy F/C's along with the Professor & Mr. Chevrolet himself.
