lrlocke01 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Looks awesome, I can't wait to see the body in paint.
pharr7226 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 The detailing is amazing and you always have just the right amount of weathering. The different shades of metals in the last shots really show off your exceptional alclad skills.
iBorg Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I'd love you to do a tutorial on how you made the seat as well as the interior build up. Looks very real which is the goal of any replica.
Dragracer Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Is looking just fantastic John, agree with Irlocke01, can't wait to see the body painted up & put on!
W-409 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Excellent Job as always, John! Detailing is super. What did you do for the rear tires, they look very realistic that way, much better than my tires, what are sanded with 400 grid sandpaper.

gtx6970 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) Looking REAL good. Do my eyes decive me, does the chassis has a 4 speed but the cockpit has the shifter for an automatic ? Edited June 26, 2012 by gtx6970
Foxer Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 I wish I could do even a lousy job as fast as you work! Looking simple gorgeous!
Pro Tech Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 John, simply stunning. When I get my Jungle Jim car done I'll meet you at the line to have one of those "days gone by" match races.......LOL....... Charlie Pro Tech
John Teresi Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 Hello.....thank you all for the kind comments......scratch built wheelie- bars weathered and assembled......I did some modifications on the body .......I removed 1/4 inch from the front end and re-shaped the fenders......thanks for looking.
Alan Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) John, you have an automatic shifter but a 4 speed std transmission which is totally incorrect. That era FC usually ran Chrysler 727 TF's and/or TH400's as well as Clutchflites ......... Edited June 26, 2012 by Alan
GoatGuy Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) John is working from photos that I took of the real car. There are pics posted in the 1:1 section. John- are you sure you didn't just sneak into Bruce's barn and take photos of his wheelie bars? Ha. I was wrong. The pics I posted are here in the Drag Racing Models forum. Alan Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I can tell you right now, it is totally wrong .......... The restored car has a modern B&M ratchet shifter and an auto transmission ... John's rendition is wrong period, he has a 4 speed in his model along with the auto shifter, so it twice as wrong in that regard. I don't understand going to those lengths to build a replica then to make such a mistake.
John Teresi Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 Hello..... I.scartch built the body tins and supports......I still need to fine sand and add a few details to the tins......thanks for looking.
Chris in Berwyn Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Can't wait to see this in paint. I am going to be working on a funny car project and I will need to make interior tin also. How do you get the right amount of curve in the tins so that it nestles properly against the inside of the body? BTW, I think my favorite detail on this so far is the little spark plug wire holddown on top of the valve cover! Chris
