Mike Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 This was a fun little kit to build. My friend Mark and I squared off building the same kit in competition for fun. I wanted to keep the build stuck in the 70's, so the earthtone paint scheme came of age. I didn't test fit the hood before anything , so I have to fix that so it clears the air cleaner hose. I also added Shabo tire decals. Anyway, here it is
KENNEDYJR Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Hey that looks good. It nice to see someone building that kit, I never see those built up anywhere. You did a good job, captures the 70s.
Fisher61 Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Nice clean build! I remember alot of 79's in that color scheme when they were new.
LT Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Nice job. That color combination definitely has a 70's flavor to it.
lonewolf Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Nice clean looking build Mike. I posted this a couple of days ago, but it dissapeared. I wish I could find a kit of a Firebird in the same model year, since I owned the 1:1 for 8 years.
my name is nobody Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Terrific Build! That looks real enough to start up and peel out. and I too, remember those cars well. lots of folks had them. a friend of mine in the Army had one in the early eighties....... it was a puke pastel green with a green interior.
cruz Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Very nice and clean work man, nice choice of color and the one I would have picked for it......
kelson Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 love camaro"s ! and i love this one! excellent clean build.
Jim Whalen Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Yup, definitely a '70s vibe going there! Nice build, pity the hood fouls on the air intake. I was in Canada during that time period so your model brings back memories of seeing cars like that for me as well.
philo426 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Cool!Reminds me from the one from FAST tIMES AT RIDGEMoNT HIGH except that that car was ice blue.!
