R&R resin kit of a '58 Pontiac Bonneville, paint is Tamiya Mica Red with white top. Interior is aluminum color, with Scale Motorsports seat decals and flocking. I did a 'what if' sort of, as my Grandmother had a '58 Pontiac Chieftan that I drove briefly after getting my license, and this version would get the groceries home in a lot more style. This build was supposed to be quick, but took me half the summer to do. I think most of it was filling the pin-holes.

I love it! Fantastic build. I'm generations behind that make of vehicle, but I absolutely love the body lines about it. B)

Excellent job on Pontiac's "Impala" Randy! The Bare Metal Foil alone can be enough to make anyone weep! B)

I can remember '58 Pontiac's (In fact all GM '58's) very well as a kid as they were fairly numerous into the late '60's..............a neighbor across the street from us had the more plain Chieftan(?). (Am I becoming an 'Old Fart"??B))

Fantastic job. I love it. Did you take out a second mortgage for the Bare Metal Foil?

Looks like a serious contender for the "resin kit" category trophy at the Sept. Showdown. B)

Thank you all for the kind words. This was one of those sentimental projects, and that car will be fondly remembered. Any '58 year car will certainly test your foiling patience, so I spread it out over a week! B)

Very fine job as usual Randy, can't wait to see it in person. I am not even going to waste my time competing with you in the next meeting :):):o;)

Great build! R&R's build up nice if you put some work into them.

I think I would have taken vacation from work before I started the BMF  Excellent foil work!

Randy,

I have only 3 things to say to you about your Pontiac:

1) I love Pontiacs...and this one is no exception!!

2) Your '49 Merc makes a "nice" avatar, but this one kicks it's ___!

3) You need to put it in a box and mail it to me! I've already made room for it in my display case!!

GREAT BUILD!!

I have to get me one of these some day. My brother-in law had one around 1964 or 1965 a blue one with a black custom interior in it. I loved that car. Saddly it got wreaked. He didn't fix it as parts where hard to find for them back then. Seams to me his didn't have as much crome on the sides on the front of the coves. Love the look of yours.

The first time I saw this one, it was at the club picnic. It was also my first meeting, so I didn't know what I was looking at. I'm glad this came back up. I think this thing is sweet! Didn't realize how much work went into it; man, good job! :D
