Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Just finished this '40 Sedan. It's a box stock build of an 1986 AMT kit. Paint is Tamiya TS-11 on the body, and testors carylics for all the rest. Thanks for looking!!!
cobraman Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Very nice. So good to see a well done stock build.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Thanks!!! Most of my builds are factory stock replicas. I can count on one hand's fingers my non stock builds.
charlie8575 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 So nice to see one of these done in non-street/hot rod or custom. And done nicely, too. Charlie Larkin
slusher Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Wow, thats a clean build, awsume finish and detail..
my66s55 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 This is the way I like to see models built. Nice clean build and STOCK.
rmvw guy Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 It looks right!!! Color is perfect. This is one of my favorite kits to build also.
Shardik Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 That's beatiful. I, also, prefer show room stock, and you have done this one justice. The paint color on yours looks perfect; what did you use? (I recently picked up one of these kits as well but it has yet to make it to the workbench. )
Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Thanks you all for the nice and kind words. very appreciated, you can count on that. The color I used on the model is Tamiya TS-11 Maroon, that looks 99% close to the original Ford color Mandarin Maroon. you can have the paint mixed and don't get as close as Tamiya is straight from the spray can. If you prefere to airbrush, you can decant the paint fron the can, and use it on the airbrush as well. If you want to go with another color, and still look factory stock, you can use Tamiya TS-15 Blue, that is almost a perfect match for Ford's Washington Blue.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Some outside pictures: Thanks for looking again!!!
Sixties Sam Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Very nice! It's good to see a stock 40 for once. Great paint job - the color is just right! Sam
bbowser Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Excellent job, great color. I really like it a lot!
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 That is just gorgeous. Probably the nicest build I've ever seen of that kit. Perfect color too.
