tvandmoviecars Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Wasnt sure where this SHOULD be, so I am poutting it here.. I was going through the dusty cobwebs today....... the garage, not my mind <LOL>, and found a few buildups I was wondering about..... The 1st and 2nd, I bought already built, and kow NOTHING about.... thinking the 1st MIGHT be a Lindberg!?!? I bought it as a buildup at least 15 years ago.....
disabled modeler Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Looks like a Johan 64 Dodge to me...I am kind of a Johan nut...LOL...
tvandmoviecars Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 2nd is a TOTAL mystery..... it's a really bizarre 69 Charger..... not sure if it was a model, a toy or what...
tvandmoviecars Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 yeah, I am a yohan fan too.. they did a lot of ugly and unpopular cars (read.. NOT a mustang or camaro).... and I have a few on the shelf, myself.
tvandmoviecars Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 this should be the easiest one.... I would love to do another, as this was 1 of my EARLY YEARS attempt at "customizing" a model... although PAINT appearantly wasnt a customization I wanted to do!<LOL> It was molded in Orange! I THINK it was a AMT or MPC...
Joe Handley Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 whoa........that would be a mess even if it wasn't a glue bomb, I think it's supposed to be a '68 or '70, maybe a little '69 too.....wow
Ron Hamilton Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 2nd is a TOTAL mystery..... it's a really bizarre 69 Charger..... not sure if it was a model, a toy or what... That, my friend, is a genuine Palmer 1970 Dodge Charger R/T.
Joe Handley Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 That, my friend, is a genuine Palmer 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. Wow, that's bad compared to the other Palmer builds I've seen.
Fat Brian Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 What happened to that Charger kit?!? It starts out sort of okay but then it's like they realized it was going to be too long for the box or something so they just squinched up the back end.
Bartster Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 lf you wanna get rid of that Johan '64 Dodge, l'd be glad to give it a happy home!!!!!
Casey Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 The AMT '68 Camaro Z/28 is the '80s release, the '64 Dodge a Jo-Han kit, and The Palmer Dodge Charger looks like a '70...well kinda sorta resembles one.
mikemodeler Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hopefully they will come apart easily so you can restore them. The AMT Camaro body can be combined with the current Revell 69 Camaro chassis to give you a better detailed build. The chrome pieces for the Camaro can be had from The Modelhaus if they can't be saved. That Charger ain't much to look at, I personally would use a few firecrackers and put it out of it's misery! The 64 Dodge has potential, take your time and restore it.
Joe Handley Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Welcome to Palmer Models, where the Mustangs look like Camaros....sorta, the Mustang 2's look even more like Pinto than normal, and the C2 Vettes........look like a half melted blobs.....
tvandmoviecars Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 That Camaro doesn't look too bad at least! that's because I built the Camaro!<LOL> Anyone got a photo fo the box art of this release? I think i did it in the early 80s... I will not be "restoring it", but might biuld a new version of it.. as I plan to do with some other kits I have repurchased (some later issues, some the exact same release that i built originally)... not sure, but is this the same kit, but a re-issue? (bottom left Camaro kit.)
tvandmoviecars Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) so that Palmer kit.. are those decals that came with it.. or just something a kid slapped on there? Is it a valuable kit? appears I paid original sticker price for it, when I got it in the 90s!<LOL> thanks for IDing it.. I had no clue WHAT it was!<LOL> as for the Camaro.. I do not recall what release it was... that is hwat I am trying to figure out.... no, the Johan Mopar already has a "good home".... MINE!<LOL> Where it can live out it's golden years surrounded by other MOPARS!<LOL> when was this released, last time? Edited August 1, 2012 by tvandmoviecars
Casey Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 as for the Camaro.. I do not recall what release it was... that is what I am trying to figure out....
tvandmoviecars Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 thanks... now, is this the same kit as hope so... kit is sealed for now, and dont feel like climbing up there (stored on shelf 7-8 foot up, behind a bunch of things.) Mostly worried about the hood/engine having a stock option.
Chuck Most Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Know what? I actually kind of like that Charger. Rebuild it as a Zinger-type cartoon car!
Deathgoblin Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 The Camaro's kind of a nice kit. I had one of those back in the day. The Palmer Charger is... interesting.....
cobraman Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 That Palmer Charger is a trip. ( ya, I'm old ) It sort of looks like what the difference between a Javelin and an AMX is. Looks like a short 2 passenger car. I have a couple of the Palmer Cobras and they look pretty bad. Palmer took some liberties when it came to their likeness of the real thing.

A "trip" in the literal of figuritively? I'd be willing to bet there was LSD involved, and had nothing to do Lake Shore Drive or Limited Slip Diffs
