caapa Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) The Lincoln Futura was built by Ford, the body made by Ghia in Italy. While the car was extreme and even impractical it was a fully operable car. George Barris used the car for build the first Batmobile for the movie about a decade later. The modell is built from a Revell-Monogram kit. To open the middle section of bubble top was an interesting challenge. The other challenge was to make the body straight again because the original plastic was hooked as a propeller ! Dominik Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Awesome Lincoln! I hope, my Futura will come out like yours. it looks very good in my view!
TooOld Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Absolutely Gorgeous ! ! The opening top is great ! A real show piece .
gtx6970 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Very nice. I have one in the 'to do ' pile. right along side a ClubDeMer and an Turbine car kits someday .
Albie D Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Seems like a tough build. Came out way cool.
Deathgoblin Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Very nice. You can definitely see the resemblance to the finished Batmobile.
W-Machine Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 To the Bat cave! I like the Futura in its pre-Barris form almost as much as I like the Batmobile it later became.
peekay Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Fantastic job! Anybody who knows this kit will be VERY impressed.
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Outstanding build of a very primitive kit. Beautiful.
Brian_B Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Wow...I never saw the concept car. Just the Batmobile version. Barris did not do nearly as much to it as I thought. The designers did most of the work. LOL
Draggon Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Thats quite nice! This is the first time I have ever seen the bubble top opened. Great job!
deathskull59 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 that thing looks angry from the front end and crazy looking from the back of the car.
RancheroSteve Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Excellent! The best Futura build I've ever seen.
