Jeff Johnston Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 This was kit bashed with the 70 AMT kit because of the better suspension and engine bay on the 70. I had to cut the engine bay off the 70 body and graft it on to the 76. This is exactly the car I had from August 1984 until April 1986, until the floorboards rotted away. I weatherd the engine bay and chassis to what it would have been when I got it. The body was always good and looked good...it was under the car that rotted away... traded this for a 78 Trans Am..
Dominik Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Cool looking and used car. Like the vinyl on the roof.
ChevyCoupe41 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Very nice lookin Camaro! Paint job looks good and weatherin on chassis and engine looks good also. Nice Job!
Gluhead Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I like that...and I don't like many 70's subjects.
kruleworld Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 it looks good and i quite like the weathering. it's lifting a wheel in the second picture.
sjordan2 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Outstanding work. Great craftsmanship, artistry and attention to detail. Kind of a bummer on the right front wheel not sitting properly, though. What body paint did you use? Edited October 9, 2012 by sjordan2
Jeff Johnston Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 thanks guys. Actually the car does sit on all 4 wheels. In this pic the car is sitting at a weird angle on the white paper background that I have under it, and it lifted the wheel off the ground. Here is a pic on a different background where its sitting level. It would drive me too nuts to call a car done if it did not sit on all 4 wheels
MyBradKeselowski Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Camaro looks awesome ! ! I like the color and the 70's chassis and undercarriage looks more detailed...
Jon Cole Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Stunning work, Jeff! Like the weathering, too!
Jim Whalen Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Hi, Nice, realistic looking Camaro. Shiny where it would get washed and waxed and looking used in the engine bay and underneath - the overall effect of your model is very good. Cheers, Jim
bbowser Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Great model. I love the ones of cars of our past. You nailed it.
rorleans81 Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Fantastic. The plug wires look so tired and worn. Very realastic
charlie8575 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Nice job, Jeff. I hope you're planning on bringing that to Classic Plastic and MassCar. Charlie Larkin
Maindrian Pace Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Takes me back to Phoenix in the '80s. They were everywhere, generally with faded paint and off-brand white letter tires on the back only. I miss those days. -MJS
