Just got this '57 Ford from eBay cheap:

$_57.JPG

Chassis is already assembled and very nicely painted (better than my talents!); all I have to do is build up that 406 4-speed; tough part will be the four-door sedan conversion.

Also have a '67 Impala 396 on its way for my '67 Chevy pickup, and a Thunderbolt shell and interior bucket - cutting up the shell for the window frames (looks like they'll fit my '63 Galaxie notchback) and hood latch, and the interior to replace one I lost in the last move...

My wife picked up an open box, but bags sealed and complete inside AMT 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator kit from a thrift store she likes to shop at. Funny thing, if I'm with her...no kits. When she goes, I get a phone call to see if I want it. This time though, it was sitting on my chair when I got home from work yesterday. Nice little surprise.

That's kool Andy. My wife does that when she goes to garage sales...

I went to Michaels today armed with my 50% off coupon. They didn't have the Zap-A-Gap CA I went for, so I looked at the model display. Generally there's usually nothing I need, but I spied a Jeep Rubicon, with the coupon it was $12.50. I think that's only the second model I've ever bought there.

Then I went to Hobby Town USA to get my Model Cars Magazine. I also picked up some CA in the thickest variety. I don't like that Hobby Town has their own private label on this stuff, since I don't know what I'm really getting. So I'll try it and see how it measures up to Zap-A-Gap. I also grabbed some Squadron White putty. I've always gotten the green, but hey it's a new year! I had tried the Tamiya putty recently but really don't like the way it spreads and sands.

I did that when I was new to the hobby. I'd be at a show walking around with shopping bags in each hand and I'd run into older / more experienced club members who were carrying nothing... "Didn't see anything I needed." I couldn't understand that at all, I mean here we were in virtual toy land! Now I know where they were at!

I see the same thing at our local shows, and at first, I thought the same, why are not buying anything, but I guess when you already have most of the kits that are being sold

I did pick up some stuff at the LHS today

Might have to stop by Michaels with that 50% coupon tomorrow. The selection at my store from model stuff is pretty bad though. I usually go to Hobby Lobby.

I just bought these two kits this weekend and some paint.

Went to Hobby Lobby to use my gift cards and this is what I selected. Now normally I would never bought the 2 silly gasser kits but they were on clearence for less than 4.50 each so I grabbed them. Might be fun builds between other more serious projects.

Did not get it today of course both packages i got last week

theres actually (2) complete omni(s) including the parts and decals to do the "sidewinder"

between the 2 daytona boxes theres almost enuff parts to make just about 3 complete daytona's and the 2 stealth boxes 1 box is a complete dodge viper r/t kit and the other box has 2 complete stealth r/t kits

so it is like 8 complete older models in 5 boxes pretty sweet deal for 21$ plus 10 bucks shipping!

It's going to be a project car, Kerry. I have disc brakes ready for the front. When I removed the back seat today I ripped out the wire from the battery to the voltage regulator. It took me and a neighbor almost 2 hours to figure out what happened that there was no power. It has a 1641cc engine and the exhaust will be replaced with a stinger unit. Don't need no heater boxes here in Florida (although tomorrow night is supposed to get down to 27. Nasty.
