its certainly odd

I think the decals might have got damp, fujimis old decals often disintegrate over time and sometimes its can take less than 2 year. I've got loads like that and they are all 8s to mid 90s japanese kits. The revell and amt decals tend to be a little thicker which might be why they last better

Check your Walmarts. Mine got another model kit display.  When I noticed it they were on clearance for $17.  I go in today, and they’re down to $11.  I figured sigh why not, and grabbed these two.  I’m not a fan of MPC at all, but by these being new tools, and after checking them out I’m impressed.  Now to find what kind of aftermarket stuff is available for these.

I kept kicking myself over not grabbing the Cutlass last time and was fairly sure it wouldn't be there on my next pilgrimage.....I was wrong!

Went to the ACME meeting yesterday and got a winning raffle ticket, picked an MPC Sodbuster. Not something I probably would have bought, but on examining it, I found it has exactly the tires I need for another 4X4 build. It looks to be a nice kit too, so who knows. I have a friend who's really into 1:1 shortbed squarebodies, so I might de-4WD it and build it for him.

Slid by Ollie's on the way home and snagged a couple copies of the most recent Revell '32 Ford roadster too, plus an AMT Sandkat that I've kinda wanted to do something with, but not badly enough to pay much.

They had an AMT Kenworth mixer for cheap too, again a kit I've wanted but not enough to pay much for.

And finally, a Monogram '32 Ford simply because I think it's the BEST proportioned '32 Ford roadster ever kitted by anyone, and I've wanted to build a conservative full-fendered roadster based on it for some time. A friend has a black fiberglass SBC-powered 1:1 that is as close to a flawless street roadster I've ever seen...that he drives a lot...which is the inspiration.

Pretty happy camper here. Finally snagged an old Convoy Van kit from Revell. I built this as a kid and want to revisit it with a more detailed touch now. The instructions have a 1974 date on them so I would have been maybe 8 or 9 when I had this kit back then.
Missed out on a couple of auctions on them  before I snagged this one off eBay from Canada..which is better for shipping for me. Super stoked.

My dad had built that kit in 1983; long gone now but there’s photo evidence I have to try and find that shows it built up back in the day.

Wow, surprised you were able to get one of those Monogram '32s.  Those disappeared from my local Ollies ages ago.  (Unless they're getting new shipments?) Even the new Revell '32s came and went in a blink.

Well, I officially have my '60 Plymouth Suburban kit. All complete, but partially built, that is, the engine block was painted, but that's about it. Has a set of rear drag wheels and rims, so the intention was a Drag Wagon build. Not gonna happen. It's number 3 in line now to build, so it may be a while, but it's so awesome to have my first grail kit, and my first Jo-Han

I realized that I was on my last sheet of BMF and it has some wrinkles in it.😕 So I went to a LHS and picked up four sheets. That should last me awhile. On the way there I stopped at Michaels and grabbed this ‘55 Chevy for $20 hoping that it had some useable parts. After opening it, I kinda wish I had put the money towards a real nice kit.😕 Oh well, its got some wheels and tires at least.

One of my holy grail kits. I always had intentions of making it box stock since if first came out, but my need to get creative got in the way.

Enjoy
