Made an offer on this one last night, on Ebay....... which is a 1:43 scale Truescale Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I - 1959 Drophead Coupe by James Young, and my final offer was accepted. I already have two Rolls-Royce diecast model cars by Truescale, and this one is another highly detailed and extremely accurate model. The cream paint finish caught my eye, and the only downside for me is that it is a LHD version with white wall tyres.

Also grabbed this Hasegawa 1/24 Willys MB because it's such a great kit. Light years ahead of the similar Italeri version.

Now this is just totally cool, a gift from a member here who prefers to remain anonymous, and I fully intend to honor that anonymity. Thanks very much, my friend, it's just awesome.

Well, there is really no comparison, this kit is so good, it is totally "Tamiya Like"!

Hard to believe. I built the Italeri a while back and found it a perfectly delightful and accurate kit, which IS light-years ahead of the MPC.

Mine didn't have an M1919 on it, though. B)

I have Italeri 6351, a 2010 rebox, in the stash. It's alright; but not as good, detail-wise, as the Hasegawa. Just my opinion; and, you know what they say about those. :D

You might also find that 1/24 scale Hasegawa Jeep lurking in this box.  If you find it shrink-wrapped, the "Dragon USA" label/thing is just a paper sleeve with the Hasegawa box under it.

This version comes with 2 sheets of Voyager photo-etched brass to make the armor plates, a radio and some other stuff.  It also has Cartograf decals. A few years ago, these were being dumped by online vendors at fire-sale prices so I guess it wasn't a big hit.  Here's a review:

I have the Italeri version and have plans to turn it into a replica of my 1942 Ford GPW

Hmmmm.......

I'll trade you my Hasegawa MB for that old, rust-prone Ford. Consider it a magnanimous gesture on my part. :D

What a guy. I think I have the 1:24 Jeep here somewhere too. I intend to eventually use it in a vignette of sorts, with an American soldier examining an abandoned German tank, perhaps a Jagdpanther or Tiger.

1/24 armor? Do you have the old Bandai 1/24 KT and JP kits?

No, this would be the Tamiya or Academy 1:25 kits; close enough anyway. I don't think most folks would know the difference.

Mine usually change after I've acquired one. These days I'm looking for a Monogram Terra-Jet wood car and a Testors Chezoom full detail

A couple I have never been able to pony up for are the AMT Stude rear engine funny can and the Edsel funny car. I have the pieces to recreate both, but an original in the box is still outside my budget.

Hey Roadrunner, thanks for the backup on the Skyraider thing on HS the other night. Much appreciated! B)

I think you may be confusing me with someone else. Either that, or I'm losing my mind, which is also a distinct possibility.

My first '65 Riv--pieces of which got incorporated into a build I did last year--came in that box.

As to the Wildcat, I dunno if that's the original box art, but it's certainly in the style of AMT's '66 box art. I too have bought several of those "retro box" reissues just for the art. And I collect the originals whenever I can. So far I have the Skylark, Barracuda, Falcon, both Corvettes, and the Mustang HT/convertible. Just last week I got the '66 Riviera. I think I have the Impala convertible, too--have to check.

From what I recall, the recent repops do have the correct box art of the originals. If I'm wrong, I like to know about it, and see what the originals really looked like. But, they both look right from everything I've seen.

Huh. Then there's some imposter calling himself roadrunner at HyperScale. Sorry.

As far as my records indicate, I'm not a member there. Do you have a link to the specific thread you're referring to? I'd be interested in reading it. I'm always up for some Skyraider chat.
