James, Hasegawa sure is getting good mileage out of their 962C molds.

They've made way more 962s in the past 8 years (20) than the original run of kits when the tooling was new in 1989 (5). That tooling sat dormant with an occasional spot run of the original 5 kits between 1990 and 2016 and it's been a drunken party since then. ?

I'm blaming my '63 Ford Galaxie for this. After considering a Dupli-Color GM Metallic Blue and Tamiya TS-58 Pearl Light Blue, I finally opted to place an order with Scale Finishes for '63 Ford Viking Blue. You really have to make an order worthwhile in relation to shipping, so I had two friends, Peter and Ken join in the fun. It's amazing how meeting someone in person can have a lasting impression. At the GSL-XXVI, 2017, I had the privilege of meeting Jameston Kroon. I still have the Hot Wheeks handout from that most memorable of road trips. Normally I am not a factory stock person, but it seems that nostalgia has bitten me in the backside! LOL One of my purchased paints is Ferrari Rosso Dino. I did not do my research. I just assumed from the name that it would be the appropriate shade of red for the Fujimi Enthusiast Ferrari Dino kit! Whoops!

Same thing happened to me with the F40 & F50. I had purchased that I thought the proper shade of red for the F40, but it was the shade for the F50. So I had purchased the proper F40 shade of red, and purchased F50 kit lol.

I really like to follow the "tail that wags the dog" philosophy. I purchased two C1 transkits designed for the Fujimi Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Did I have those kits? No, but that didn't stop me. Eventually I did give in and get two of those Ferraris. LOL

A fun Amazon find…$18 with shipping from Amazon Japan.  There’s some cool deals on there if you don’t mind waiting a couple of weeks for shipping…

Also… “Pic-Up” ??

Interesting. I never knew this was an option for buying kits. I just had a look and there are indeed some good deals there.

And a second mail call for the day…another Amazon deal - one seller had these at under $20 shipped and I’m a sucker for a showrod…

Thanks.. I still have some of the remaining pieces from my original glue bomb in a box. There's another kit on ebay up for auction with 2 days to go, no bids or buy now. It's not complete but close.

They ship super fast, but as usual get dinged by taxes intoCanada

if you haven’t tried, using oils works excellent for simulating a leather interior

While in another town, I stopped to get a couple things at Walmart and they had a few model kits stuck next to the diecasts. I got another MPC 1982 Bronco. Don't need another kit, but I can never pass that one up. One of my favorite trucks.

Do you remember who the vendor was? I've been looking for one of these.

So I'm reneging on the excuse I had last October when I put the potential project I photo-altered (along with a Gasser Angla coupe idea, basically just relocating the headlights into a much less frog-eyed location) into my concept illustrations thread because I didn't think I could find the time for it. Also seemed like every buildup / unassembled Thames panel on eBay was always $30 or way higher outside my poor man's budget, and the vibrant color I prefer was in the more pricey 1969-ish version. I'm lazy these days and would rather just polish the plastic than paint a body. However, this one showed up two weeks ago, and I was the only eBay bidder at $20 + shipping. Score! Arrived in the mail this afternoon, the only item missing is a door handle. The chassis / engine is close to being a glue bomb wreck (the front axle is really messed up), but the body is surprisingly free of any glue smears, which is all I need for the relocated headlights street rod project idea I have that'll be getting a different street legal chassis / drive train / engine.
