Got this from ebay. It was cheap and thought it would be a quick easy fun build between other projects. Maybe a few minor mods to keep it interesting.

The aforementioned '61 Continental arrived today; a bit dirty but thankfully very little glue damage - looks like Ambroid cement, or something that didn't eat much into the plastic. No glue on the glass runners under the roof (yay!), and the custom bits in the tail should be removable without much drama.

There's one chassis screw missing; I should be able to find a spare.

(I told my friends, "I must have a loose screw somewhere!" And they agreed.)

What is this, quote but no quote?

I went to write my post and that was there and I couldn't remove it. I shut evrything down, rebooted and it was still there. So I put my post in anyway. I tried to delete that but couldn't.

Couple Ebay auctions showed up today.

First, AMT 1967 SEMA Edition Mustang Fastback, was a super deal, $16 CDN including shipping and exchange.

Second a variety of MCG items for my Daytona Coupes, 1- some seatbelt fabric 2- ignition wires 3-black and red battery cables 4-some braided cooling line and 5-photo etch battery hardware.

Still waiting on my Daytona parts from HRM.....hopefully before Christmas, but Canada Customs is notoriously slow at this time of year.

Stopped by the LHS after work, walked out with a Moebius '65 Satellite impulse buy (hadn't originally planned on getting one of those).

Also recently got the Starsky & Hutch Torino & Lindbergh '66 Chevelle at Hobby Lobby.

I can relate to that...chassis screws always seem to be missing with the ones I find and have...<_<

My latest acquisition, the Revell Corvette gasser, purchased as a Christmas gift from me to me; Hobby Lobby 40% off. I also snatched a can of Star Spangled Blue lacquer while I was there.

Hello, my name is ChrisBcritter and I'm a Continental-holic.

Time to practice my molding and casting for the hood ornament, wheelcovers and rear grille, and do some whittling to make the B-pillars AMT forgot to add that year.

I almost bid on that...

Kevin...Cool glad you will be able to fulfill one of your dreams...I remember the one your wanting to build now.  Me one I have been looking for is the one that came with the 61-63 Ford pickups for my project.

Yep, it's for this old classic, certainly a grail project for me. Now that I went through the effort to gather the right stuff, Round 2 will probably re-release it!

I admit sometimes I wonder if I'm bidding against someone here... I usually bid so lowball I'm surprised when I win.

Got the car all apart (thankful it was Ambroid cement) and cleaned up the mold lines, removed the custom parts, and worked on aligning the front and rear bumpers - these usually have fit issues. Found stress lines in the windshield but I may have a spare.

Please keep us posted on that one - I've never seen one built with the camper. Got plans for the tonneau cover? ;)

I too have never seen one with the camper. I hope too keep us posted on this one.

Not really. Is there one in the '59 El Camino? I haven't really looked yet, though the tires are just outstanding.

Once I'm comfortable that I can paint it OK (I've had some real "issues" with painting), I'll begin a WIP on it, but that might be awhile. This is one of those "had it when I was a kid, really want to do it again" models.

Thanks to the fellas on this site, I was able to determine which other El Camino kits had the camper I was seeking, that's specifically why I bought the '65, to snatch the camper. Perhaps you have a similar situation, with the camper having been available in other kits?
