(Keep in mind I took these photos in the car on the way home so quality isn't very good)

I would have advised against buying the "Ultra Bright" BMF, especially if it's your first time using it Lane.

I've been using the regular BMF, now called "New & Improved", for decades & have very good luck with it.

I don't think I'm alone when I say that the Ultra Bright stuff has issues.

Please don't get discouraged if it doesn't work well for you.

Before you give up on BMF, try some of the new & Improved.

I'll try it first, the owner of my local hobby shop said I should put just a little bit of baby powder on my hands so it wouldn't stick to my hands and stuff as much.

I would be careful with that.

One of the problems that can arise with the Ultra Bright is low adhesion.

Getting any baby powder on the adhesive side of the piece of foil that is intended to stay on the model is going to only exasperate the problem.

The best thing to do is avoid touching the adhesive side of any foil entirely.

Use tweezers to lift & apply your foil.

Even the oil from your hands can adversely affect the adhesion qualities of the foil, & you want it to stick for a very long time.

what if I don't have tweezers......

because i don't... but I think I could ask my mom for some, hopefully she has some, if not, then I can't get any, because our money is tight at the moment

Don't do that. It will make it hard to stick to the model too. Burnish it down well with a Q-tip

You can probably manage without, but it will make things immensely easier with a tweezers.

You can pick up a good pointed tweezers at nearly any craft store for probably less than $5.00.

They have entire sets of tweezers on ebay or Amazon in the $5.00 range.

Do you have an X-acto or similar knife & blades?

Without that, you will be virtually unable to do anything with BMF.

That's a good start.

If at all possible, get your hands on a good pointed tweezers.

It will make your life a lot easier for a ton of things with building, not just foil.

Revell of Germany Audi A4 DTM Tom Kristensen. I have a large list of models I'd like to build, and suddenly the Revell DTM models have become super scarce. Or at least they're not available from major websites or ebay. I was able to find a random shop in the west that listed one for sale for a non-discontinued inflated price.

Pleasantly surprised when it actually showed up instead of a "sorry we haven't stocked that in a long time" email.

nice!

glad you got one!

ive been in that predicament too, about a year ago I wanted an old AMT star truk, but they were too much money, but then I found the perfect one, and my mom had the money to get it! Sometimes it's hard to wait, but after you have it, your glad for the wait, because you got the best price you could get at the time.

Just got a complete new AMT '57 Ford interior for 99 cents, which will help to kitbash my uncle's 4-door Town Sedan. (Two more sets of door panels and I can do my '58 Edsel Ranger properly!)

I picked up a couple things recently. The Stude is mostly for the Mr. Speed decals and the body. I want to recreate the rear engine funny car version. I actually had one, but let myself get talked into selling it. Jerry Amaral got it and made an awesome bullet nose version of the rear engine Stude as part of a drag team. I wish I had pictures because it is one of my favorites.

The Beretta decals are because I always liked the box art of the original issue of the pro street Beretta, but the kits have pretty much disappeared. I'll get a reissue and use the old decals.

The last pic is a reminder of days gone bye bye.

1.30 marked down from 2.00. Just enough allowance money to make it.

The Hobby Lobby clearance aisle had a Revell '59 Cadillac hardtop with a big DAMAGED sticker.  The box had been re-shrink-wrapped. For $7.99 it was worth the risk. That kit is a gold mine of parts, from the detailed engine to the bullet taillights.

Just opened it up.  The only "damage" - the rear roof pillars are slightly tweaked.  I think this was pretty common on the 85-4361 issue of this kit in the small box.  There's just too much plastic to cram into that little box.  Otherwise it's complete and mint.  I already have a couple of these in the old, bigger box, but don't mind having another. Especially for $7.99.

A bigger risk, since I had a 40% off coupon and saw no kits I wanted - got a set of the Jacquard airbrush-ready metallic paints.  I want to do some airbrush experiments with metallic colors and that seemed a fairly cheap way to do it.
