trying to place an order for photo etch and being charged 4x the stated amount for S&H.

second try on advice from the owner, I was charged only 2x, so maybe I should be happy.

nope; if this guy wants business his website should run properly. he's been around over a year.

Pickups, SUV's Mini or Maxi vans any of those slab sided monsters out there! Why such a rant? Well, Harry, you mentioned clueless drivers. I drive an MR 2 and if I am parked next to any of the afore mentioned vehicles, I can't see(expletive deleted)until I am 2/3s of the way out, so backing out of a parking space is a slow careful exercise in hoping that those going by aren't running at full speed and can see me, because I sure as heck can't see them!

This is one of the reasons I try to park as far away from everyone else when I'm in a shopping center. It never seems to fail that if I park "among the crowd", some dumb minivan or SUV always ends up parked right smack next to me.

Frustrating as heck!

I agree, but there are times when the parking lot is so small you don't have a choice, like this morning at the Doctors office. Also, I don't know how many times I park out in the middle of no where and some ######## decides he has to park next to me in his 1970 POS wreckmobile!

About every ten years I have a run in with kidney stones. No fun. My sister who has had four kids and kidney stones, will tell you the pain from kidney stones is a lot worst than delivering babies. Just went through my last bout this last January. I hope I'm good for at least another 9 1/2 years. :(

Okay I'm major league bummed! I was attending the last day of a four day seminar in NJ today and never got there! My Grand Caravan shuddered a bit, the same sound like when you hit rumble strips on the side of the highway, then suddenly I was in neutral. I coasted to the shoulder and realized that I lost my tranny. I knew if I shut it off and started the motor again I could reset electronics, so I did and got a short distance. So I did this to limp off the turnpike and into a gas station. I got to ride in a tow truck courtesy of AAA and brought it to my favorite shop. Of course all this in the pouring rain.

I had replaced the trans with a rebuilt, about 80,000 miles ago. The last time it screwed up it turned out to be the speed sensor. So I'm hoping for something simple.. otherwise I have to make a decision. I don't think I want to put another $2000 plus into my 194,500 mile van.

Was being dumb and sharpening a knife, holding the stone wrong, and the knife slipped off and gave me a 1/8 inch deep gash across my right forefinger. And of course that's right where I hold my pencil.. Let it burn, let it burn...

Try the junkyard. Or, worst case, find yourself a reasonably worn older Ford or Chevy van for cheap that might need some DIY.

As for my day... I've had a headache all day. Not painful, just irksome. Goodwill still has not called me, even though I'm willing to work every day including holidays and they need the position filled "as soon as possible."

I looked up used transmissions and all the ones on eBay and Craigs List came from vans with as many miles as mine! Actually thinking of maybe buying something new... last new car we bought was that Caravan back in 1996.

just don't tell anyone that you "blew a tranny", it can get taken the wrong way lately. ;)

Only 2 trans in 194,500 miles? You were lucky. My 93 Grand Voyager took 5 to go that far. Last Chrysler product in my garage, ever.

what irked me today? I will tell you what irked me today: I haven't been able to get any decent clear (Tamiya ts13) and my local hobby shop hasn't gotten it back in since it became available again. why? because they basically don't care, they claim its "discontinued" and have no plans to reorder it even if it came available (it is currently I believe) but that's for another irksome thread. so instead I bought some Testors wet look lacquer clear and figured that would work ok over Tamiya orange and decals and door lines inked in and one thin coat of TS13 I managed to coax from my very last can.

so I get in my spray booth and have at it. I am planning on going easy and laying down a couple of mist coats first before going for the real wet look. well guess what? Gxx Dxxx nozzle, brand new mind you, malfunctions on the second pass and dumps big drops of clear right out onto the paint job and almost immediately it starts crazing what it is on. DXXX DXXX DXXX. totally ruined. my fault really for trusting it as this is what pretty much happens everytime with that junk. how in the heck does this worthless Testors outfit stay in business? straight into the garbage and now not only do I have to strip the body (MIGHT be able to get away with just sanding but I kind of think its going to be more trouble than its worth), which isn't going to be easy due to the multiple brands/types of paint on it, but I also have to find some TS13. Tamiya clear never does this to me.

at this point I am thinking its going to be way easier to just dump this body and buy a new kit and start all over again. unfortunately I used the only set of decals I wanted on this body. everything else is done and ready, just need the body. so then it will be 30$ down the drain and a box full of useless parts minus the body to sit on the shelf and no decals to do the graphics I wanted (pretty simple really: just a black racing stripe down the center of the car but it was a certain stripe I wanted and now if I want it I will have to try painting it...yet another challenge on a car that was supposed to be a quickie).

hope everyone elses day is going better.

The wife and I headed out to the movies today. Nice dark movie theater and what happens ? About three ignorant people have to pull out their stupid cell phones and get or send a text. You can see it in the whole theater. Go in the hall if you must send or receive a message. Very annoying IMO.

I hate that myself. The theaters used to have ushers to stop people bothering others. Now theres one person selling popcorn and one projectionist for all of the movies played. One of the reasons that movie theaters are going away. I can rent a movie and not be bothered with inconsiderate people.

Yea. Movie theaters are more trouble than they're worth. Forget the expensive stale popcorn that makes the whole place smell like feet. And the last time I went to a movie I had to go to the restroom. I held up my remote and hit pause... Nothing happened ! I'm much h better off watching movies at home

I actually enjoy going to the movies. Some movies are better on the larger screen. Not too expensive if you go in the afternoon. Plus here at least Harkins theaters have a deal where you can buy a t-shirt and loyalty cups. The shirt is 20 bucks but you get a free medium pop corn if you wear it. The drinks are a dollar when you bring the cup. Actually I think this year the drinks went up to 1.50. We have been doing that every year since 2009. It's a good deal if you go a lot.

Ray, rat those bastages out to the manager of the theater, they'll give you passes to another movie. I usually just throw popcorn at idiots that have phone out during the movie.

I had someones brat running up and down the aisle during a show, my wife was so pissed she confronted the inconsiderate biatch that the evil spawn belonged to, and talked to the manager.
