They closed a hundred mile stretch of interstate here yesterday. Ive driven all the way across Montana and the state of Wyoming many a times with just one lane open. Now they don't even do that.. 1

That makes as much sense as saying Henry Ford took all the credit for what his company did. The fact is that in BOTH cases, neither Ford nor any of Musk's companies would exist without them. Founding CEOs, though they rarely do that much of the actual grunt work, are the ones with the vision and whatever it takes to get investors and competent help to achieve the vision. Much as the Musk haters love to put him down, he's accomplished more than probably any individual human who's ever lived. Don't get me wrong: I'm not a Musk fanboy. There's plenty he does I'm not on board with. But I also acknowledge real leadership when I see it, and again, though his employees do the real engineering etc., not a da.. one of them could have achieved what Musk has...or somebody would have by now. You could almost consider him the Thomas Edison of today. Edison gets a lot of credit for many inventions but he had a whole team behind him to do the grunt work. Do you really think he had the time himself to test over a thousand fibers to see which one would work the best for a light bulb. But I said almost. While Edison came up with many of the ideas himself I don't think Musk has the same capability. It's more like Musk sees a good idea and throws the capital behind it. 4
rattle can man Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Carl, you have my sympathies. I felt that when the Eagles lost the last time. We shall meet again! perhaps next year? I thought it would be closer.

Ace-Garageguy Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Only irked at myself so far today, taking too much for granted, not trying hard enough, and spending too much energy on negativity. 1

Falcon Ranchero Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Yet again another sunny Tuesday off but I'm stuck sick inside witha cold or whatever. Since Sunday, but started feelin' a little off on last Tuesday. Happens once every year between October-March era. Skipped school yesterday but it was only collectivley 2 hours of two lectures like every Monday and I caught up on any notes online yesterday and a couple online quizes. Still hate being sick though. 1
Old Buckaroo Posted February 11 Posted February 11 My wife pulled in behind my truck last night. (not her usual parking spot) Negative twenty eight this morning and her car said"Heck No" when I went to start it. Cant let her use my truck as its blocked in. She can stay home and enjoy my entertainment for the day. 4
TonyK Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Possibly the USPS or possibly our Homeowners Association. Send a check every 3 months for dues and got a late payment statement with lots of added fees because the association hasn't got the check I sent 5 weeks ago. This happened before and after calling them they cashed the check the next day. Hmmmmm But.... the last couple of years we've had checks lost in the mail in our city and the next one over. They eventually got delivered but over a month later. Very irked! 1

A modeler named mike Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Not so much an Irk, but more of a saddening. Our sweet little Chihuahua Zoey, who was 14 years old passed away naturally yesterday. What make it sadder, was my 17 year old granddaughter found her in the kitchen when she came home from school. 10

What’s really nice about college is for the most part we’re not at school the entire day like high school, so that helps. 4

Rob Hall Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Sorry to hear that Mike, never easy to lose a pet. My strange little Chi mix rescue Beardsley is still going at 11 or 12 (not sure of his exact age)... he's now the grumpy old man barking at the young Yorkies. 1
Engine 51 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Sorry to hear that Mike, it’s always tough to lose a pet. I have buried more than I care to remember. However, at least she went on her own terms and you didn’t have to take her in and go thru putting her down. 1
Engine 51 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Today’s irk: snow, snow and more snow. Enough already!!
JollySipper Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Having to 'come down' off of the Percocet I've had to take since I hurt my wrist...... I have a very low tolerance for strong pain meds, as I just don't take them. I'm trying to tough it out and not have any more..... If you can't feel pain, you can't tell if you're causing more damage.... 3 1
