TonyK Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Opened a 2-pack of Loctite super glue and both of the tubes were rock hard at the top and soft at the bottom. Completely useless. Bought it less than a month ago. Going to be tough checking another package since they're in a blister pack but think I might open it at the customer service desk. I've always used Loctite and this is the first time this has happened.
ranma Posted April 9 Posted April 9 The mouse on my laptop sometimes decides to freeze up and not work. Sometimes it corrects it's self, while other times I have to reboot the whole thing! Though the old Buzzard is still working going on 13 years now. Bought a Replacement 5 years ago, which never ended up being used for the internet. My roommate played tri peaks on it. But then the hinge one one side stated having trouble which would pop the case away from the screen, not long after that it developed cracks on the bottom. which ended it's use. Both are HP laptop's but this one I still use at 13 years hasn't had the bad plastic like that newer one had.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Not much in the way of irkage yet today, but I have to go out for a bit, so give it time... 1
FoMoCo66 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Well I got my 67 corvette repainted and picked up some more testors metallic red, or at least I thought i did. I ended up buying metallic red/rouge and with the tinny faunt on the bottles I didn't see the rouge. My corvette is pink!! I wanted red! I might Layer some actuall metallic flake red on top to make it look better. Elliot. 1

FoMoCo66 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I was just thinking about it and think that it's will just put a darker shade of red on top of it. It's not worth striping.
johnyrotten Posted April 9 Posted April 9 All around great looking vette. Call it a happy accident. That color suits the look really well.👍 1 1
FoMoCo66 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Mmm... never mind, I'm keeping it. Not worth the work, probably do clear some time today. 2
Falcon Ranchero Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Another vote on keeping the colour; it looks pretty cool in that shade of pinkish red. Also the street machine style looks spot on. 1 1
Big John Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Irk Irk Irk... Spray Paints aren't what they used to be, wanted to get some Testors 1244 gold to match an old can I had.. The latest (now rustolum) has way more copper in the pigment, not the same color at all. Then the latest purchase cans of Tamiya primer seem to have a much lower % of pigment solids and dry nearly transparent. Also tend to fisheye badly leaving a goopy rough finish. Never had a problem with them before this year. Back to automotive primers.
rattle can man Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Cost of living always remains the same: everything you make. Thought i was going to get ahead his month and either the water pump gasket or the lower coolant hose failed on my truck. At least it's old enough that it should not cost too much. No computers involved and easy access. 2

Ace-Garageguy Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Neighbor burning household garbage again. Great weather today, warm, very low humidity, opened up the house and turned on the exhaust fan, and of course now the place is filled with the stench of burning plastic. Guess I'll have to call the FD next time, as although burning yard waste IS legal, which is fine with me, burning garbage is specifically NOT legal, and I'm really tired of the morons who are too stupid to grasp the difference. 1 3
FoMoCo66 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Was trying to snipe a amt 66 falcon built up just now on ebay but lost. I really want one of these and always loose out. I want to build a replica of my dad's high school car which he still has in running driving order. I wish I could just get my hand on one. Pic of my dad's car in it's current shape. Elliot 6 1

We have some moron that does that in our town also in the middle of the night. My wife thinks they are trying to hide the smell of them cooking meth. 1 2

Tim W. SoCal Posted April 16 Posted April 16 On a road call this morning, I had to change the headlight dimmer switch that mounts on top of the steering column in a vehicle for work today. I removed the old, faulty switch, opened the clean, new box that replacement switch came in, which was issued by our Parts Department, to find an old, broken, just as faulty switch inside. This is about the 4th or 5th time something like this has happened to me in the last 3 months or so... It seems that we have a clown at work that thinks it is funny to return an old, worn out part in the clean, new box that his replacement part came in to the parts department, knowing it will be issued to another Service Tech. Fortunately, I had another dimmer switch in my service truck parts inventory... 1

89AKurt Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I have more than a one-day Irk to whine about. Since it involves my County government, I'm limited in what to say according to the forum rules. I see THREE Shipping Containers from the last traffic light to my house, the picture is just up my street, delivered before mine. So for some reason I thought my District is allowed to have them, there is no HOA. The day I got Fakerri registered, got a letter from the hated Development Services (building department) demanding I remove mine. It's a complaint driven form of government, my next door neighbor to the south and I have not talked to each other for years, so I know he snitched on me, because the pictured Shipping Container on a vacant lot was not reported. I have found SEVEN in my District, two locations had complaints filed, yet the County allowed them to remain. I sent an email to the Land Development Specialist, asking how one location is allowed to remain, 4 work days later I still don't have an answer. And whatever stupid reason is given, I will ask about location #2 which is almost next door to #1, also given a pass. The water manager thinks he was stealing water from a blow-off valve, no meter at the house built without a permit. Then I will say that I have 5 more, that should keep her busy. Two containers have been below me for years. I just called into the local radio talk show, to talk about Shipping Containers and wildland/urban fire stuff. The arbitrary lack of enforcement drives me nuts. Customer rating for the building department is zero, but the County's G.I.S. website gets a 10+, if you think you have privacy, you don't. /end rant/ 2

Either way someone might want to put a bug in managements ear about the situation about the internal parts shrinkage.
