You only need to enter the tracking number (if you have it from the shipper or receipt; If you do the email route, they usually let you know in an email) on the USPS website. You do not have to log in.

The USPS Informed Delivery service shows you photos of mail-pieces delivered to your mailbox, whether it's tracked or not. Mail theft has become a huge problem (especially in some neighborhoods in certain parts of the country).  Having the ability to see what  was actually delivered to your mailbox is very useful when you get home and check what is there.

Not so much an irk as it is so stupid I get a chuckle from it. Two texts on my phone this morning.

UPS tried to deliver a package but...... I don't even read it all. Why would UPS have my phone # and I don't have anything on order so they didn't attempt to deliver anything.

The other text was something about a part-time job I can get........ Well, I've been retired for umpteen years and if I wanted a job I don't think I'd try and get one from some bogus text.

The wife got a letter from Canada saying some relative with the same last name died up there (seemed like it was a few years ago) and there's some unclaimed life insurance. Yeah ok LOL

Shameless lies, including bizarre revisionist history that has no basis in reality, being presented as truth by mainstream and social media.

It's called "retconning". It used to only be done to fiction.

Anyone who disagrees has their comments disappeared.

AND THE VAST MAJORITY APPARENTLY DON'T KNOW OR JUST DON'T CARE.

Well I thought I finally got the decals I ordered off ebay. Just to find out all that was in the envelope was the cardboard and a bit of blue tape that would have held the decals in place. Then noticed the bottom of the envelope was taped closed with magic tape..

Some news about my ebay order; was refunded this morning because the seller couldn't find it, and then sent me a message this afternoon saying that he couldn't find it but then just did, so I've been refunded but that apparently won't happen for another 3-5 business days, and I'd rather wait until that comes in before I buy it again, and so now there's all this dumb waiting and unsurness going on for what I thought would be an easy little thing to just purchase to see how my first order off of ebay would go and it didn't even work now. Kinda not happy about this at all but I'll just have to see what happens. Seems like every time I want something 1960 Plymouth-related it just never works out.

Some of those old Plymouths can be cursed!😳

So, Amazon shipped a package (via USPS apparently) for my wife - in theory. This morning I was working in my driveway. I came in to get a drink and found this email waiting:

Unfortunately, USPS ran into an issue when attempting your delivery. They will try again.

You can contact USPS for more information.

I was in my driveway all morning, No delivery was attempted. Detail left by the driver on the website: Cannot deliver. Mailbox full.

*!#@%!!

I called customer service and finally got a chat bot that "transferred" my text conversation to an "associate" who finally assured me my package would be delivered by the end of today. Right. I'm holding my breath.

What a cluster...

Buying a new issue of a Round2 (amt) model only to find that the quality of the decal's is bad.

International Harvester Pay Hauler 350. Decal's crumbled after being place in water.

AMT Miller Beer Trailer decal's refusing to stick to the trailer. Had lack of  adhesive on decal backs. So I had to coat the decal backs with Testors window making glue (aka cockpit glue)

It's a definite issue. Mentioned the hell of a time I had with the side stripe decals on my '69 Galaxie XL GT model kit. Didn't crumble in the water, but were extremely delicate upon application and didn't stick well. Ripped in a bunch of places too. Not sure what the heck AMT's doing with their decals these days but they are definitely cheaping out on them.

More likely a QC issue.. I have the '69 galaxie kit . and used the white stripes on a semi truck kit. those didn't have an issue. The Rat Fink trailer decals (I have Three sets) so far none have had an issue. The Miller beer one's not wanting to stick now that was an issue! Round2 did replace the Payhauler 350 decals, the second set worked without any issues..

Robo calls. I work in a small museum and have been getting multiple calls everyday for a number of weeks. Yesterday there were 26 of them all wanting to help with understanding the recent changes to medicare and medicaid. Sorry, but the museum doesn't have medicare or medicaid. It has gotten so bad I just let everything go to voicemail and then return valid calls.

Bought a light button-front cotton-blend shirt (made in India) that seemed like it should be great for hiking.

Didn't notice it in the store, but when I got it home it smelled like it had been pickled with essence of Vietnamese stink bugs, one of the smells I hate most on the planet.

Maybe it'll wash out, as I'd kinda like to get more if it turns out to be as breathable and quick-drying as it seems like it'll be.

I've had similar-weight 100% cotton Indian-made shirts before and I really liked them, but this is a polyester blend, so who knows...

Saw something similar yesterday while shopping at Home Depot. I have used the item that you would soak in water and wring out before putting it over your head and around your neck to keep your head and neck coo while working outside in the heat. Now they are offering much the same thing but as a short or long sleeve shirt. Might be something to look at, didn't notice any unpleasant odors.

Marriage!

Some days it's great. Some days it isn't.

This is one of the bad ones. Worse, because I let my mouth off the leash, and said hurtful things.

The House is Tense & Silent.

Models just mock me today......

This irk is a blessing in disguise with forecast temps around 100 or higher, the county has decided to seal and chip the road in front of my house, probably Monday. That means bench time!

I'm getting more serious about managing my weight, and my old spring-job bathroom scale was becoming erratic, never giving the same weight twice, even 30 seconds apart.

So I bought a brandy-new whooptee Chinee ( what else?) digital-readout scale.

It's even worse.

Made sure the floor was entirely level and solid where I put it, and that it wasn't rocking even the slightest bit.

Even tried it in different parts of the house.

As much as ten pounds difference in displayed weight, 30 seconds apart.

On the way out the door to return it.

Man, I am SO sick of garbage consumer products.

EDIT: No wonder there are so many people out there saying "I've tried everything and I can't lose weight".

Yeah, well, if your scale isn't accurate...

I quick weighing myself years ago. I can tell more from how my clothes fit and my once a year visit to the doctor.

That's fine, but it doesn't work for me.

I'm actively trying to build muscle and lose lard, and I need to see daily results.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so my weight can stay about the same during the process, but I'm not as responsible about working out OR eating right as I want to be, and daily weighing helps to keep me honest.

I have a bad habit of losing a few pounds and then getting a bag of chips and some dip, or a package of cookies and a quart of milk, or a pint of ice cream...and it all comes back real quick.

I need an accurate scale that shows me if I've gained or lost even half a pound...

The snugness of my belt generally gets me within 5 pounds of my weight.
