Those that hold up lines for their lottery addiction. Especially during lunch hours.

Funny thing about how those who populate the lotto lines don't often look to be gainfully employed in anything that requires some skill or intelligence...if employed at all.

Frankly, I'm surprised my bank hasn't started selling lottery tickets.

And it's now closing on 4:00 PM.

Got everything taken care of that wasn't my job in the first place, at least as much as possible for now, and haven't made a cent.

Thanks, idiocracy.

Between that, or like today's case 'cause I was working at the shop, the state office worker buying for their whole department. 17 minutes to pay for a coffee.

Ah yes, overpaid salaried "workers" with hot-n-cold running benefits. Gotta love 'em. Not a clue in sight.

Lottery = tax on the lack of ability to comprehend the concept of odds.

"If you don't play, you can't win!" states the California Lotto propaganda machine, uh, I mean television and radio ads...

When California was pushing to legalize lottery gambling back in the early 80s, they SWORE that the lottery would supply the public schools with so much money we'd NEVER see another school bond issue on the state ballot. I don't think it took ONE voting cycle for THAT to turn out to be a lie...

We play the California Lottery & the Powerball, when they really large.

For the cost of a couple packs of Smokes or some Starbucks, We can dream big for a week.

The $40.00 or $50.00 bucks a year is worth it to me, and it lets my Wife dream a little longer.

We both know we are stuck in California, (Kids and Grandkids), I can't afford to try to sell my house, and buy another much more expensive one, Cali Real Estate being what it is.

So, that's why I play sometimes. (and Sadly, the California Motto is technically Correct. You Cannot Win a Lottery you don't buy tickets for)

Lotteries are basically a  tax on the poor. The French discovered you could only get so much tax from the peasants before they revolted. However the gave much more for the hope of winning.

Fifty bucks a year is next to nothing, the cardboard Crackheads are a whole other realm of ridiculous. The ones that spend 250 at a rip and take seven minutes for each scratchoff choice. It's mostly the way it's run, lotto ought to be a self service kiosk.

I seem to remember they called it "the numbers racket" before it became respectable with a gubmint sanction.

Went to a nice restaurant last night for our 42nd anniversary. First time I've seen a 3% charge on a bill if you use a credit card. Who doesn't use a credit card these days?

It's starting to get chilly at night, with frost in the cars in the morning.

This in itself doesn't bother me, as fall is my favourite season.

What does irk me though, is that although it is insulated and attached, my garage is not heated.

Which means I can't paint in there.

Which means I'm going to need to pack up all of my paints and supplies, and take them to my mum's place, as her garage is heated.

So my bench now becomes portable, I have to do my building on the kitchen table, and all painting requires a trip to my mum's place.

I keep saying it, but maybe this is the year we finally get around to heating the garage. Maybe.

*le sigh*

I try to plan ahead and have bodies painted and other things that need sprayed such as chassis and interiors so I can do all my brush painting during the winter in my garage. Usually do some figure painting and possibly a diorama project. My garage isn't heated either but I have a small heater at my workbench when it gets uncomfortable.

We have self service kiosks in a lot of places here in Virginia.

We've got them where they aren't needed, walmart and such. I think it's up to the store owners or franchise.

Scrambled, produced-quick-and-dirty "documentary" videos for yooboob, with mismatched photos that have nothing to do with the "AI" narration, and a mixture of facts and gibberish. This is the vaunted AI revolution everybody is so excited about? Just more of the same inaccurate internet inanity, but now assisted by artificial stupidity instead of the pure human variety. All it's achieving is making it vastly easier for the totally ignorant to produce internet income streams, with little regard for truth.

Probably going to ground the broom-flying witches for the foreseeable future too, eh?

This is complicated..... could also be put in the Pleased thread, but here goes.  Drake is a nice paved road going to a drug money laundering cement plant, GPS thinks it's an alternate route, but there are signs saying it's not because it turns to nasty mud.  It was a traffic jam in the middle of nowhere, then half of the traffic turned left and we got back to normal.  I will represent other people working for a living, U-turns had to blow.  Picture going south 89, where the "C" in canyon is.
