I don't post photos on the site. That is a pain! I load them into one of the photo sites(most are free) and then with a single click I can copy a link and post it in my message. Far easier. I use Photobucket but there are many that I am sure work just as well. The really good thing is that this doesn't use up MCM's band with, storing photos and they load almost instantly.

The torrential rains we just got irked me! The news just said it was the most water to fall since the 1880s or something like that, and without a tropical storm thingie. I got stuck in New Jersey. I was working in New Brunswick for the day and at 6pm it was raining so hard that my clothes got completely wet even though I had an umbrella. I texted my wife that it would probably be a 2 hour ride... then the fun began!

It took me 2.5 hours to get from New Brunswick to Princeton, NJ. That's maybe a half hour ride normally. Route One got flooded so we got a tour of back roads, all stop and go. Every road the GPS told me to try were closed for flooding. What a friggin mess. I had plenty of time to text and make phone calls, so I got ahold of my daughter who is sales manager for a hotel in that area. She got me a room at her hotel, so I spent the night. Put back on my icky clothes and drove home this morning!

I talked to Dr. Cranky yesterday... the Tallahassee area (and the Florida panhandle in general) got as much as TWO FEET of rain! His property flooded, but not the house.

Now that's a rainstorm!

Thanks to the County we are flooded again, just like in 2008 when they swore it would never happen again.

They lied! Wow, that's terrible.

In middle TN 30 or so years ago there was a flood that the state said was a once a 100 year flood. In 2010 we had another 100 year flood. I'm still trying to math this together.

It's an army thing! Actually the Corp of engineers. When they do flood maps they rate them by the likelihood of flood waters reaching the upper most area of the flood plane at least once in the period. Most people read that as it will only flood this high every 100 years. Not so, they are guaranteeing it will get that high at least one time every 100 years.

People posting model pics that are either blurry or far too dark. C'mon guys, we want to see what you are building.

I have to admit I am not very good at taking photos myself and can relate to this but its always great to see what others are building or have built.

I thought it was something realtors said. "Yes, It's in a flood plane, but it is a 100 year flood." Then the buyer figures the 100 years starts from the time they buy the house. Happened to a friend of mine outside of Sacramento. They lost a lot.

Realtors say a lot of nonsense. My last one was a lying idiot. I asked why every room was wonky, every door opening was lozenged, and why there were multiple chalk-lines and sloping cut blocks on top of the poured basement walls. I said "looks to me like no one knew how to use a level".

She said "it's an old house. Built in 1969. I think it was before levels were invented".

You just can't make up stuff that funny.

I've always said that when it comes to stuff like this that I'm not creative to come up with stuff that stupid.

Sounds like an ex-car salesperson trying to cash in on the housing market! Sales people in the car business will say anything!

Ain't that the truth Danno, had a lying idiot of a assistant manager that I worked with at Toy's "R" Us ended up going to the Carmax I bought my Jeep from, he was one those who it amazed me he could figure out how to drive his own vehicles at times..........

Also had a friend tell me his Dad was at a Ford Dealer and happened to be looking at a SN95 body Mustang that was on the sales floor when a salesman decided to try and sell it to him, part of the attempt included him telling my friend's Dad it was powered by an Inline V-6...............

yea, but what's worse is that there are people who would beleive the realtor.

When we were buyin' the car for my wife a couple of years ago, the salesman said that it had 350 horsepower, and I had to clue him in and tell him that the "Sho" had 350 h.p. and not our car. Don't they have an APP for that?

I was looking at a house onetime back in Missouri, great asking price. Had a nicely finished basement, great lawn and a strange "divider wall" in the office basement. Tracing that wall's location to the outside of the place revealed a large crack extending from below ground level up into the soffet. Corresponding damage in adjoining rooms led me to believe the house was seperating into two halves.

When I brought this up the real estate agent looked shocked and immediately called her office. Right in front of me she says " He found it, what do I do now, what do I say?"

I left.

Oh and what irked me lately?

IPMS judges who were drinking during the show, actually starting before judging began. Club members who participate in their own show and one of which who, oh yeah, takes a sweep of a class.......

Lest you think this be sour grapes I scored six trophies and my grandson two. Maybe the drinking helped?

What irked me today is realizing at Noon today that today was the show in Henderson that I had planned to attend, just to show G that I can pay him back for coming to DSC!

Boy Howdy, my calendar alarm failed me this time.

(G probably rigged my calendar so I'd show up next weekend. :P)

Be thankful you didn't attend. I'll be down in November, we'll get our party on then.

Whoa-kay! Yer ON!

I'm still gonna fix that wake-up alarm!!!

{PS: June 28 is the next swap meet!}
