This old movie has finally made it to youtube in its entirety. Besides some very very nice period hot-rods, the experimental Chrysler Turbine Car is featured prominently. Worth a watch before the copyright police strike.

Just look up "The Lively Set 1964" on YT.

All kinds of technical errors in the dialog, but kinda fun anyway.

What a treat to see this movie again! The first time I was in elementary school up in the middle of the Canadain Prairies, dreaming of what it would be like to live in California. This has been my favorite, even better than the Muscle/Beach Blanket Bingo series. Great vintage drag scenes.

Now if we could even get the old curbsides it would be fun to build the Owens car.

Thanx for the link

Cheers Misha

I have enough Unbuilt Glue Turbine kits, I have always planned to build the Race car out of one of them!!

Still have to paint everything Except the Outside of the body Turbine Bronze!!!

That does get painted White. Even the vinyl Roof!!

I was 10 years old when that movie debuted. My buddy's parents took us to the local theatre to see it.When we exited the place after the end of the movie there was one of the real turbine cars parked at the curb!We thought that was SO cool!

Oh yeah-even at 10 years of age I thought Pamela Tiffin was HOT!I found out later that she got an advanced degree and quit acting after only a handful of films.

Just don't have a drinking game with your friends whenever Pamela says "Oh, Casey!"

No kidding, I watched over half of that movie and she is annoying. Kinda pretty, but annoying.

Close - it's actually a '61 Ghia L6.4. They argued for four years in French and English over it, but L6.4 it is.

Thanks for the info. I noticed it in the film, assumed it was Ghia from that era based on the nose, and had it on the research list. Thanks again for the time saved. :)

So I click on to the link and wound up watching the whole movie. Cool. The car in the flick did not have it's vinyl top so I guess sanding is the order of the day for this build.

Here's Pamela in her last film, the 1986 Italian TV movie Rose - she still looks good at that point:

Back to the car: Looking at the still from the movie, the number 5 on the door looks different from the one on the decal sheet; If I scanned it and modified it to match would anyone want me to post it?

OK. I started with the roof; it was a 300 DPI scan:

I started by making the number bolder. I noticed the real movie car had a gap between the stripes and numbers, so I added that too. If you can make a usable decal from it let me know and I'll tackle the doors. Good luck!
