They are calling for some snow event this weekend in the Carolinas. Not sure where the storm will track so they (weather forecasters) are covering their butts by saying we could get anywhere from a trace to 8 inches! Told the wife we better stock up on food now because if they keep screaming snow on the news, the stores will be emptied by Friday morning.

The upside is that we are supposed to be back to the 50's by Tuesday so whatever snow we do get, won't last long. If the snow was forecast to possibly hit us on Friday, we would be talking school and business closures, something we rarely saw growing up in Northern Illinois.

Well not far outside Canon City CO. we have about 6" in the yard and my coworker that would have been coming down from Denver said he had about 8-9" in his drive way and couldn't get out so unexpected bench time today.

Yes the forecasters do cover their butts, however they also play up a few flakes to LOTS of snow. I'm going to stop watching the weather forecast on the news and just read the forecast in the newspaper without any fanfare from now on. It is getting old.

My backyard right now.  Snow is coming down at a fair clip, just can't see it in a photograph.  Glad I am working from home today, indoors and no where to go!

You guys are living in the wrong place.  Sunny and 79 here in FLA.  No snow and no hurricanes in the forecast.

No hurricanes is good news, as look what happened to Puerto Rico.

Can you believe it?  The talk is for a chance of snow flurries in Tampa.  Since we're 100 miles north, we'd be in a blizzard. And it's going to be even colder going into the 30s.  Nobody in Florida has a furnace.  All we have are heat pumps and they don't [pump out heat like a furnace does.

A few inches of snow here west of Philadelphia overnight.  I was surprised it was snowing when I woke up this morning.  It's cold enough that it hasn't started to melt, which worked fine for me.  I managed to blow off both cars and the driveway with my leaf blower.
