dantewallace Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I don't usually do cars from this era, but something about the body lines made me want to build it. The color is Testors Lime Ice Lacquer backed with Testors Ultra gloss clear. The tires are from the AMT Firestone set, Detail Mater distributor set, heat stained headers, everything else is box stock. All chrome has been stripped and redone in Alclad.
slusher Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Beautiful model and very nice touch on the wheels and tires..
John Pol Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Real nice job I can`t do those gauges in the dash that good that's for sure
Jantrix Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Great work. How is the fitment on that kit?
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Good to see one of these built. You've done a great job and answered some of my questions about it. Nice stance on the kit-supplied street-rod suspension.
dantewallace Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Great work. How is the fitment on that kit?Thank you sir!! As for fitment Hmmmmm, The inner rear fender skins leave a small gap along the tops, the front grill's alignment tabs don't line up with the radiator (I shaved them off), The dash sits to far down into the interior tub leaving a gap between the top of the dash and the windshield glass's bottom (I raised the dash to fix that), the mount for the steering column is nearly non existent, the motor mounts could have been better. I had to pretty much hope that the motor was mounted flush to the chassis because my view of the mounts was almost completely blocked. OH!!! And a really big problem was that shroud on top of the radiator, it sits to high. I had to file it down a good bit just to get the hood to sit flush with the top of the grill. It came out exactly how I wanted OOB.
dantewallace Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH!! Just realized that I didn't remove the press marks from the undersides of the running boards, oops. I guess In my rush to get it finished I had forgotten. This car sat for two weeks due to missing parts so after finally getting those last week I just wanted it done and over with to get to other builds.
Tom Geiger Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Just realized that I didn't remove the press marks from the undersides of the running boards, oops. Paint little smilie faces on them and make it look like you wanted them there! I've bought old built ups where the original builder carefully painted in every one of them! BTW, nice build and color. Lately I've been more into 33-34 Fords than '32s! I think there's probably more '32 street rods around than Henry built new! The '34 has nice lines and that art deco grill is very cool. o-man Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Not my cup of tea subject wise, but nice job you did on it!
