Hobbymaster on ebay. $59.50 plus $8.60 shipping. Roughly the same as paying $42.97 plus $25.41 for air registered shipping.

But they don't have them, they're selling a pre-order slot for Late April/Early May delivery. It's also more expensive than going through HLJ or Hobby Search.

In the listing I bought from, it stated delivery between April the fourth and the seventh. If it isn't here by the seventh, I'll have a legitimate complaint against them. I can then either get my money refunded or possibly work something out with the seller. Either way, it won't bother me to wait a little longer.

That listing is a little misleading and I would contact the seller and verify the actually shipping of the kit, and does he have them or not

As the listing title says this

Have one to sell? Sell it yourself
Details about 1/24 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY CREW CAB PICKUP TRUCK MODEL KIT by MENG- PRE SALE!

Then under shipping it says this

Shipping & Delivery

$15.10 Shipping | Sat. Apr. 5 and Tue. Apr. 8
Then the item description says this

TAKING ADVANCED ORDERS
PRE-SALE AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING LATE APRIL - EARLY MAY
SHOP WITH HOBBYMASTER - BUY WITH CONFIDENCE
100% FEEDBACK - FAST SHIPPING - FAIR PRICES - NO GAMES
SUGGESTED RETAIL $ 75.00

No Roger, you won't! It's the same listing I have on my watch list, and in the shipping and delivery box at the top, it says that I could have one between Saturday April 5th and Tuesday April 8th, THROUGH EBAY'S SYSTEM!

Now, if you use that little wheel in the middle of your mouse and scroll down to the seller's description, (which seems many people who post "I hate ebay this" and "This ebay seller did that" posts don't know how to read) this is taken STRAIGHT FROM THE EBAY PAGE:

Condition:

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item (including handmade items). See the seller's listing ... Read more

Brand: MENG MODELS Year: 2014 Character Family: FORD TRUCKS MPN: CS-001 Recommended Age Range: 15 & UP AVAILABILITY - PRE-SALE: SHIPPING LATE APRIL - EARLY MAY Scale: 1/24

Hmmmmm... seems pretty straight forward to me, it ain't shipping until late April or early May JUST AS THE SELLER CLEARLY STATES!!! If that's not enough, this is also below that, where the seller AGAIN says it is a PREORDER and WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!

TAKING ADVANCED ORDERS
PRE-SALE AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING LATE APRIL - EARLY MAY
Sorry, no legitimate complaint there, hobbymaster CLEARLY states TWICE in the listing (not to mention the title of the listing itself is " 1/24 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY CREW CAB PICKUP TRUCK MODEL KIT by MENG- PRE SALE!") that the shipping WILL BE LATE APRIL-EARLY MAY!!!!!
You can try all you want to complain, but if I were the seller or someone from ebay, I'd tell you the same thing I just did, and laugh if you wanted to get a refund or "work something out" and probably continue by telling you if you want to pull a "something for nothing" trick like that when it can't be any clearer that the item won't ship til those times, go pull it on someone else!!!!

Yeah Jonathan, it is misleading. I read the whole listing twice and kept coming back to the Delivery: between Apr 4 and Apr 7. So, I came to the conclusion that he either has them or know he will have them soon. IF I don't get them by the 7th, it's still no big deal. But, I won't be happy about it. He can either give me a break on shipping or I can give him a negative feedback rating. It's up to him. It doesn't matter to me.

You can't leave negative feedback based on your lack of reading comprehension Roger. I don't believe you can claim it's misleading either since "PRE-SALE" is in the auction title.

The estimated delivery time is set by eBay based on the idea that you actually bought it NOW, regardless of what the listing says. Plus the estimated delivery time is DIFFERENT for everyone based on where they live, and when they'd hit the "BiN" button. For me the listing's auto generated date says "April 7th - April 9th", tomorrow the dates will slide out another couple days. I bet Jonathan has another set if dates entirely living 2,000 miles further West.

Yes, eBay (not the seller) bases the estimated shipping time assuming the seller has it and will ship immediately after purchase. The seller can't change that, it's done by eBay's software. Seller was more than clear in their description, no need for negative feedback.

Our company doesn't do pre-sales on eBay for this reason. On our own site we have to ability to change shipping notices (and people still pre-order items thinking they'll ship immediately).

I recently purchased an item from West Virginia and the Ebay software made a prediction of a 3 day shipping time. In my opinion, it would take a miracle to arrive that quickly. Two days later, actual shipping was going to take 5 days. Reality, and estimated shipping are no where close.

You know Roger, that just goes to prove the old saying about ASSUMING!!!

It is simple English, and I'm sure anyone who can understand the English language no matter what a computer generated date machine is telling you, the seller CLEARLY STATES it will not deliver until late April or early May!!!

IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!!

The guy sent a message today telling me they would be here the first of May yadda yadda yadda. I responded with since he couldn't possibly deliver by the seventh of April, he needed to cancel my order and refund my money so that I can buy them from someone that DOES have them. My order is cancelled and my money is back in my account. So, all is good. No harm. No foul.

Ditto. What the heck is the point of having a big old honkin' pickup as your daily commuter vehicle, dragging that big old empty cargo box around?

Because once he buys the truck of his dreams, he may not be able to afford another daily driver. Those things are not cheap. If he does use/need the truck on the weekends, and now cannot have another daily driver, then whamo, driving the big ol truck to work.

But to further your point, I do not understand why so many people build "off road" trucks that never in their lives leave pavement. But then hey, most of the the guys that buy a Z series Vette, or any other sports car will likely never drive them the way they were built to be driven. etc etc . SOo..if logic alone dictated what we drove, then commuters would drive primarily only hybrid vehicles. Ultimately, people drive what they either can, or want to. The same way a model builder builds what they either can, or want to. What I think, or understand about their preference is of no relevance.

I am just taking a wild guess here, but that was for the China market, as Meng is a Chinese based company, so its going to take time for this kit to hit the export markets, That is why they are the first ones to have the kit. Just like say Revell kits, it takes time for them to get released in counrtys outside of the US, or vice versa with Revell AG kits, they are released first in their home market .

For instance, the Revell AG BMW DTM kits that were released this year here in the US, people in Europe had the kits late last year, but they did not become available here tell late January I think it was .

Its all about home markets, and the US is not a home market for Meng

Search this site, they are already posted!

Yeah. But how many people would expect to find photos of a pickup kit in the car kit review section? Hopefully, Jonathan will add his photos here soon.

The site owner posted the thread in the car review section. If you want to argue with him, knock yourself out. ;)

Roger, that is why I have not posted a thread yet, if I get an OK, then I will
