Harry P. Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Yes, this would have been a "muscle car" in its day... a 1914 Stutz Bearcat. This car was flashy and fast, and people who drove one wanted to be noticed! The model is 1/16 scale and a kitbash between three kits: Aurora Stutz (most of the kit, but it's a curbside), Lindberg Stutz racer (basic engine block and rear end), and Bandai/Entex/Fuman Mercer (for some of the detail parts that the Aurora kit lacked)... plus a lot of scratchbuilding. Full detailed WIP here if you're interested.

Nacho Z Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That turned out absolutely gorgeous Harry. Well done! I for one appreciate the time you took with all of your postings in the WIP. I am sure everyone who checked in on it learned something.
Ramfins59 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Harry, that is just awesome. You've done it again sir! Fine job and,as usual, excellent detailing and scratchbuilding.
Sixties Sam Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Magnificent build, Harry! Really first class workmanship! Sam
Baugher Garage Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That's ridiculous! And I mean that in a GOOD way!!!
Jordan 191 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Beautiful models! I love them . Thinking of "Stutz Bearcat" and "Mercer Raceabout", those are some of the greatest names for cars ever created. And wonderful cars too.
sjordan2 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) That turned out absolutely gorgeous Harry. Well done! I for one appreciate the time you took with all of your postings in the WIP. I am sure everyone who checked in on it learned something. I certainly learned everything I wanted to know -- including the fact that this level of skill and detail are way beyond my capabilities. An absolute masterpiece. Now that the snow's gone, how about some outdoor shots? I bet it will be indistinguishable from the real car. I bet no one ever thought that this Aurora kit could ever come out like this. These old timers may look simple, but that's obviously a misconception. Edited March 11, 2014 by sjordan2
Foxer Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Awesome, Harry. I love the engine ... and I'll take the Stutz!
Cato Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Great Harry, just great. You sweat the details too...
Harry P. Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Now that the snow's gone, how about some outdoor shots? Snow's gone? Hilarious... we still have plenty of snow on the ground! And the forecast tonight is for a major blizzard warning... up to 8 inches of snow by tomorrow. Winter isn't quite over yet. Not here, at least.
Aeroman Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 gorgeous! Reminds me of the vehicles used on The Great Race movie
bbowser Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 You're an artist working with styrene Harry. The WIP was very informative. Outstanding replicas.
