Sweet XLR-V on that hauler.

So that's the red car on the top... wasn't sure what that was. I was aiming for that gorgeous '57 Sport Sedan Bel Air. I'd love to have one of those for sure.

I remember setting those up for sale when I was at a caddy dealer. They did not come with the XM antenna installed. First thing we had to do was drill a 5/8" hole through the trunk lid. I hated that job.

I had to look up the XLR-V as I had never heard of it before. Doubt they made it to this side of the Pond.

It was a Cadillac sports car based off the C6 Corvette platform but with a Cadillac Northstar V8.  The V series version had a supercharger.  The XLR had a slick folding hardtop roof that went into the trunk.  Pretty low volume.

Old Unimog 407

IMG_2834.jpg

one of the guys i climbed the old man of hoy with had one of these. he was building it to use for his oil drilling company in saudi arabia. he wanted to go full high tech modern with it but i suggested old bedford army trucks instead. for the selling price of the mog he got 3 bedfords. besides, the volvo truck engine he wanted to use would never fit the 4wd without hanging out over the front axle like an audi does

I saw a late 90s early 00s windowless Ford cargo van with 80s-90s Chevy van fixed window side door glass cut out and mounted into the side doors. Not something most people would notice, but I'm a van enthusiast.

I took my father to see the new F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. It was a totally predictable cringe fest so don’t say you weren’t warned. The coolest thing in the whole movie was the 4x4 Econoline van Brad Pitt drove.

Spent a week in Salt Lake City and saw quite a wide variety of stuff. Lots of fancy cars and trucks. Plenty of Toyotas  and Jeeps rigged out for off roading and one dune buggy. That white truck had a complete camper body on the back. I didn't expect it but there are a lot of tuner cars too.

Edit: I also saw a Chrysler Pacifica minivan lifted about 2 inches with high-end rally wheels and tires, all rigged up for offroading. Never seen one of those before.

This pulled up while I was getting coffee. It looked in real nice shape.20250806_063820.jpg.16ff299ee79c449ca879c2d3921dc024.jpg I finally grabbed a shot of this old ford. It's right down the road from me, sad to see it rotting away. It's parked at the one house keeping the property values in check on my road.20250810_065928.jpg.2481621c2e54e3035872ef4be2ce2fcd.jpg

It seems to have held up a little better than that Dodge!

That's the good side of the ford, the driver's side you can see the floor sagging past the dog leg on the fender, she's gone. That dodge hasn't moved in the decade I've lived here, either. There's also a jeep and a ranger, the ranger moves occasionally. It's a horror show hoarder property.

We just returned from a road trip. The first car is in Cripple Creek, Colorado. It's a 56 Chevy Nomad. I saw it tooling around town earlier. Tcarsseen8-11-25CrippleCreekChevy.jpg.11d4d60300dcffa38f61d11120d1a92d.jpg

This was on the Interstate and I'm not sure what it was, couldn't get a better shot.carsseen8-11-25redcar.jpg.a5787cad7045d13693de10f9f4a77423.jpg

Finally these were at the summit of Pike's Peak. Saw several of them, modified Jeeps and Hummers used to haul people up and down. They had a third seat hanging on the back and a tonneau top. Pretty exciting to ride in I imagine considering the tight turns and lack of guardrails.

I can smell that Fargo all the way to California.

Guy that was two years ahead of me in HS drove a red 64 Thunderbird with the wires and Sports Roadster tonneau. It was his dads, and just a very well preserved 12 year old car at the time.
