What did you see on the road today?

Recommended Posts

I love British cars. The styling is so... spot-on. Even the Morris Marina, which I know everyone hates.

The Marina was right at the time, but it just could not move with the times and looked outdated too soon, especially coloured beige. Not what we consider a classic, though that would be debatable if an owner was to describe one.

As to what did I see today? A 1958 Oldsmobile 4 door. Quite a rarity in the UK.

What I saw on the news... As I watch the news from the Iraq and Syria, I've noticed that there are a lot of American trucks in the fray. Then there was a feature on one of the news shows... a Chevy pickup with a plumbers signs on the doors. The plumber is in Texas and was getting nasty calls about his truck in the news coverage with a big ISIS gun in the bed. He was on the news coverage. Said he traded it in at a local dealer with the truck still lettered. The dealer said he sent it to auction. The auction is checking their records as to who bought it, and Homeland Security is investigating how the truck got there and into enemy hands.

Oh ya, Kaiser. For some reason I thought it was a Packard. Never walked over to it when I took the pic.

And it's a 2dr..never seen a 2dr one except in a Collectible Automobile article years ago. There is a 4dr one in a similar blue near here (over around 20th St and Indian School).

Been one in the lot at my store a couple times today, nothing fancy, but still looked good!

Where did you shoot that at, the buildings look like one of the strip malls in Branson, MO.

I spotted the Tesla at a strip mall in suburban Cincinnati.....

Two weeks ago I saw a Jaguar E-type coupe, Like this:

45457a.jpg, broken down on the side of the freeway. it was a nice blue-grey. Looked really nice.

Last week I saw a Lamborghini (newer spaceship looking one) being towed on a flatbed.

The other day I saw a Aston Healey, like this:
austin-healey-1006-08.jpg at a stop light.

Yesterday, I saw a Dodge Rampage, like this:
rampage1_630.jpg. That was the most surprising of all, I literally did a double take!

I drive the PA Turnpike when I go to work, so by myself at high speed I'm not likely to take pictures!

On my way in this morning I saw a 1950 or so Plymouth Business Coupe. It was on top of a car carrier, riding up top in the rearmost position. The rest of the carrier was empty... I've seen cars in that same position before. Why do they do that? Does that weight far back and high make the thing ride better? Or are they just trying to shake the old Plymouth off? :o

On the way home I saw a mid '60s Land Rover towing a crummy old Datsun pickup. It looked like they went to pickup the Land Rover and realized the Datsun wasn't towing it home.

And a bright yellow MG on a trailer behind a Ford pickup.

Yes, car weather is in the air!

Saw yet another Maserati down by the U of O today- this was a different model than the others I've been seeing though. I'm gonna have to take my camera down there one of these days, it's insane.

Keeps the weight on the trailer's tires. If it was over the 5th wheel with nothing else on the trailer it would get wonky, especially backing up.

'69 Camaro, red with black stripes, gorgeous car, an '83 El Camino that looked like it just left the show room and one of the neatest copcars yet. It was a '14 Nevada Hihgway Patrol Charger with retro markings. She had a silver roof over arctic blue body and markings straight from the 70's.

Really neat, too bad I was at 80 and couldn't get a pic...................

Good day over here today, I saw an original Escort XR3 in white, a mk3 Capri with X pack wide arches, it was perfect.

I spoke to the Capri guy and asked him if he saw the red Integrale I saw the previous day,( must be one of a tiny number in Ireland) and it's his!, he has it in a heated garage.
