Tom Geiger Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) I'm pleased today because I got over a major hurdle on a project. For those who know my involvement with NNL East, it shouldn't be a big surprise that I run corporate events. Today I got hotel contracts signed and a room block opened up for a large conference in Puerto Rico for my client, a major pharmaceutical company! The past few weeks have been non-stop pressure! At least that part is done... now onto the logistics! Edited September 13, 2014 by Tom Geiger
unclescott58 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I got my AMT '36 Ford built 2 months ahead of our '36 Ford contest at the November MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota) meeting. One less thing to worry about, and rush to build at the last minute. Scott
Danno Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I'm pleased today because I got over a major hurdle on a project. Ace-Garageguy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Need somebody to carry your briefcase? Or to coordinate coffee and croissant deliveries to breakout-sessions? Or I could help with rum quality-checking for the inevitable beachside meet-and-greet.
Tom Geiger Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Need somebody to carry your briefcase? Or to coordinate coffee and croissant deliveries to breakout-sessions? Or I could help with rum quality-checking for the inevitable beachside meet-and-greet. Ha! You guys are biting off more than you want! I am finding it impossible to get services in line. Imagine calling 5 restaurants asking to book a dinner for 50 people, and nobody calls you back! After several calls, all have promised to email menus and pricing... nothing at all received. It took the limo company two weeks to get me a quote. And that's the preferred vendor! I can only imagine when I get to the actual conference... biting my nails wishing this one was over!
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Took most of the day off and did essentially nothing, as it's the first time in months I've had a little breathing room with no time-critical projects with guns to my head. Gonna do it again tomorrow. Might even work on a model car.
High octane Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 As the car shows/cruise nights are winding down around here, I was able to do two cruise nights tonight and had a great time. Also put in a bit of "bench time" this afternoon.

slusher Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Bought a set of tires for my wifes car and got them for a great price. Felt really good for something to go my way today...

unclescott58 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 As of today, I have 10 years clean and sober. That pleased me. Congrats Chris. Ten years, that's really, really great. Remember we can do it one day at time as they say. I've been doing one day at a time for 12,839 days now. And life has never been better. Keep up the good work. Scott
martinfan5 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Fedex pleased me, and irked me today( see the irked me thread for the first half)I called Fedex and explained what happened, the very nice CS lady I spoke with took care of it, and about 20 minutes later, my package was re- delivered to me.So props to FedEx and their excellent customer service, that is what pleased me today.
High octane Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 As the car show/cruise night season is winding down, I went to a cruise night tonight and it was "packed." Probably 'cause it was a great night, and the last cruise at this location until next May. It was great seeing friends, that I probably won't see again 'til next spring.
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I've got the next few days off, the forecast is for cooler and sunny, and I should be able to get some of my own vehicle projects moved along nicely...if I don't spend all day on the internet.
