slusher Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Beautiful fall morning and first frost. Grass mowing is over..
High octane Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I picked up a LOT of leaves yesterday, and hope to cut the grass one more time, and apply fertilizer.
slusher Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I picked up a LOT of leaves yesterday, and hope to cut the grass one more time, and apply fertilizer. I fertilize in the spring and my Willow tree is on its 3rd year so no leaves for me but I have to get some mulching done with my mowing man...
Mike_G Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Nothing yet today, but yesterday I entered 4 models in a contest and won 1st and 2nd in box-stock, 2nd in Master class, and 2nd in street machines, so I'm still pretty stoked.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Cool. Can I borrow a million? Stop by next time you're in Grove Street and I'll chuck a couple million out the window to ya.

High octane Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 That's cool Steve as I have a 14 month old grandson, but no sleepovers yet.

Joe Handley Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Apparently Edelbrock is working on this large chunk of aluminum awesomeness for actual.sales to the public!
Joe Handley Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Ronald McDonald Foundation has been building a new Ronald McDonald House across from my local Hospital (Central Dupage Hospital) and from what I saw of it driving by just now, it looks like it'll be a very nice place to stay for anybody who's family is unfortunate to have to make use of it.
Tom Geiger Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Today I received word that I passed my Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) exam. I took the 2.5 hr exam at the conference I attended a few weeks ago and really thought I hadn't passed. Big surprise! And quite pleased. That puts me at the top of the Facility Reliability field, something I've only been involved with the past year. Guess I'm a quick study!
High octane Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I got a lot done this morning, like cleaning the gutters & downspouts, emptying and putting away the garden hose, removing my grille from the deck and putting it in storage, bringin' in all the liquids from the garage, etc. Yep, I'm getting ready for the upcoming winter as it's comin' whether I like it or not. I may have to rake leaves one more time and Home Depot was out of winter fertilizer, so not this fall as I was "late to the dance."
cobraman Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Yesterday I had my every 3 month doctor appointment. Weight lower, Blood pressure lower, A1C lower. Looks like I may live ! At least a little longer. : )
vintagedragcrazy Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 awsome keep it up i wish i could do that !!!!!!!! vince
High octane Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Good new from your doctors is always pleasing.
cobraman Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Thanks guys , it's tough but I got to where I am because I didn't take care of myself. Nobody to blame but myself. Cooler here in Arizona now so I can get my butt out there and do more.
High octane Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Cobraman, my father didn't take care of himself and he was gone at age 57. He expired before he retired. That gave me enough incentive to take care of myself and live longer than age 57 and to enjoy the last nine years in retirement so far. God can only do so much, you have to do the rest.
Tom Geiger Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Went to the hobby shop today in my new car... Yup, I finally got down to business and bought a car. With all of our cars over 150,000 miles, we needed to have one clean family car that we're not afraid to take on a long trip. Those who know me know that I prefer to buy a low mile, clean used car and pay cash instead of being a slave to car payments. After a long Internet search I bought this 2005 Buick LaCrosse CXL with 32,000 miles on it for $8000 cash. It was on the lot at a New Jersey Acura dealer. It's a one owner estate car, the son of the original owner inherited it from his father and traded it in on a new Acura SUV. it's got leather and everything else we need. CarFax is complete and clean, got all the service records and window sticker with it. Dealer originally had $12,999 on it, so I think I did well. Yea, you can find a cheaper LaCrosse, but not this nice. And we plan on keeping it a long time.
unclescott58 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Nice looking LaCrosse Tom. I hope it gives you many great years of services, like my present and previous Buicks have done for me. Scott
Joe Handley Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 That it does, isn't that the rename of their big sedan?
