Tom Geiger Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Looks good for a ten year old car. Exactly. Garage kept one owner car with 32,000 miles. Leather interior is perfect. Exterior has a few minor scratches, to be expected. My wife will drive it 5 miles to work, and we'll use it as the family car for when we go places together. For us, it's every bit as nice as a new $40,000 one, but without the cash outlay.
Joe Handley Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) Hey Tom, I take it that this Buick is literally one of those "only driven to church on Sunday" type cars? My 200 has nearly that many miles on it and it was built in January of 2012, but I didn't buy it until April of 2012 with less than 75miles on the clock, plus that includes driving my Jeep during the last two winters (and a couple days already this month), and not driving it (well, both really) any more than neccessary last year due to lack of funds! bobthehobbyguy Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Last night got a 29 hand in cribbage in our 9 game club biweekly night. Odds are 1 in 216580. Mine was 5D, 5S, 5H JC and card cut was 5C. Its 3 fives and a jack with the 4th five matching the suit of the jack.
High octane Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Wow, I haven't played cribbage for almost 40 years now. Where did all that time go???
Joe Handley Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Put over 16 gallons of gas in my Jeep for only $45, there have been time the last couple years that $45 would barely buy 10 gallons!
High octane Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Wait 'til you have to "fill up" a 34 gallon tank.
Joe Handley Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Wait 'til you have to "fill up" a 34 gallon tank. No thanks, the 20.5 gallon tank in my Jeep is bad enough.
oldnslow Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My suburban has a 42 gallon tank and the dually has a 35 with a 60 aux, just glad to get a little relief.
Tom Geiger Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) Wow! I had been driving my 1991 Geo Tracker to work (PA to NJ) the past two weeks. 60 miles each way, 10 gallon tank... filling it up every two days... about 8-9 gallons. And making sure I was filling up in NJ where gas is cheaper and this nice guy fills it up for me while I check my email. Gave my wife the new Buick LaCrosse so I have been taking the Breeze to work this week. Much more comfortable than the Tracker soft top on the Turnpike... same gas mileage! slusher Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My Sebring holds 16 gallons but I never let it get that low. I get 21 and 22 city and 28 -29 hwy with a 2.7 v6. I don't think I could handle V8 gas mileage costs..
Tom Geiger Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 My Sebring holds 16 gallons but I never let it get that low. I get 21 and 22 city and 28 -29 hwy with a 2.7 v6. I don't think I could handle V8 gas mileage costs.. It's all relative... in 1976 I sold my 1970 Chevy 350 coupe because I couldn't afford to put gas in it... and gas was 50 cents a gallon then! The Buick I just bought should get the same range as your Sebring.
James2 Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 All this talk of gas and mileage, pleases me to be blessed with a company truck and gas card. I have no idea what kinda mileage it gets.
High octane Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 It pleased me today to go to the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals Car Show as it was not to be missed in my book. Lots of rain today and I chose to drive out of the three of us that went together. No really heavy downpours so it was a piece of cake, especially since I've been there before and know my way around. I'm sure glad that it wasn't that "white stuff" instead.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Speaking of downpours, I was pretty well pleased that I seem to have beaten (at least temporarily) the roof leak in the shop. Was coming in over the mill and compressor. Not recommended for extended tool life.
slusher Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I went Christmas shopping and to Hobby Lobby Saturday with the family. First time out since September
DrGlueblob Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 A little different.. I just read an AP article about a electronic spoon stabilizer produced by google that allows people with severe tremors the ability to eat better. Myself, and others on this forum suffer from debilitating health issues. Sometimes it's difficult to build when you get shaky. The Google device is about 400.00.. -if that could be adapted to hold a X-Acto or a paintbrush?
High octane Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I had to do a "road trip" today to attend a business meeting, and the temps were in the 30's and the weather was dry and partially sunny which was good.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Brought in some plastic sheet and rod to Art Club with a few older builds
Craig Irwin Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 The Bears won! Yogi and Boo-boo? Care Bears? Gummy Bears? The Berenstein Bears? Which loto and how much was it up to?
Tom Geiger Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Yogi and Boo-boo? Care Bears? Gummy Bears? The Berenstein Bears? Which loto and how much was it up to? I'd vote for the bears on the toilet paper commercial!
unclescott58 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I'd vote for the bears on the toilet paper commercial! I don't know why, but I've always hate the toilet paper and bears commercial. It's that for Northern tissue? I've always found those commercials in bad taste. The old what "a bear does in the woods" thing? Not funny! Scott

I've always found those commercials in bad taste. The old what "a bear does in the woods" thing? Not funny! Ha! The very reason why I think it's funny. Right up there with the Taco Bell "Run For The Border" ad campaign... And why White Castle started to call their burgers "sliders" after people named them that because..
