That is great Pat....hope its a long love for building for him.

What pleased me today is after a very rough night I woke up today.

Waking up in the morning is a good sign, and I thank the Lord for it each and every morning.

He picked the Revell Porsche 918 Spyder. I never clued in until we were back at the house that it was an advanced model. I spent quite bit of time showing him how to detach the parts, file the stubs and seams and Then glue them. The little shop we were at only had some tube glue so I got him to cut some 1" square cardboard pieces, put a drop of glue on one, use a toothpick to transfer the glue to the part. I showed him how to hold the rattle can away from the part and to swipe across. He has about six parts installed on the motor. I am on an iPad and have no clue how to post pictures.I will post one when I get home. He was so engrossed in it last night that after he went to bed, my daughter asked me to stay another day to work on it with him. He actually said it was fun.Good feeling.

And here's what he has:

I was watching the Fast Five movie on TV tonight and saw the trailer for the upcoming The Fate of the Furious which will be at theaters on April 14th. I'll be lookin' for plenty of high octane/high speed action.

The local pet food pantry had to relocate as their current space (which was donated) ended up with a paying tenant so it had to move to another location about a mile away.  I took my ten year old son with me and I truly expected him to be off to the side playing on his phone.  Nope....he was right in there with the rest of us filling bins, helping load/unload the box truck, rolling food into the new space and getting all set up.

Needless to Dad is very proud tonight!

My wife took me out for a wonderful Birthday dinner (my birthday is tomorrow... #70) tonight at a place called Ditka's in Wexford, PA.   I had a medium Filet Mignon with Bernaise Sauce, sauteed Mushrooms and a twice baked loaded baked potato.  A couple of "dirty Martinis with bleu cheese stuffed olives, a glass of Merlot with the Filet, and a piece of chocolate cake "on the house" for the birthday boy....... Man am I stuffed...!!!  Yummmm...

Please don't talk like that on the forum as you make me hungry. Glad you had a great birthday dinner, and I hope your birthday tomorrow is great as well, with many more to come.

Happy Birthday Rich!  You sure did it in style.  My wife usually takes me to the place where they make ya wear a crown!

Happy 70!   I remember ya when you were just old!

New job has me in the Chicago area this week for some peer training and I couldn't be happier to be back here so I can experience some real food and see some old friends.

Tonight it was Giordano's Pizza as they have a place across the street from my hotel. Not sure why it is so hard to make a decent pizza in Charlotte, but it tasted sooooo good! Of course there are leftovers, it beats the hotel breakfast!

Tomorrow will be a visit to Portillo's- a beef sandwich is in order!

I could do without the crappy weather, but then again it could be January instead of April!

That Portillo's beef sandwich is the best, and I'll have to go there soon as I haven't been there since last week. The crappy weather is par for this time of the year.

HA - we're going to Portillo's tomorrow for beef sandwiches and fries.  We'll be bringing home 5 lbs of frozen beef, gravy, and some bread.  YUMMY!

Wow, pleased again two days in a row. I finished a model today as it's been 'bout a year since I finished the last one. Of course a 6 month hiatus didn't help any either. I hope not to do that again. I need to get off my butt and keep building, as all I really need is more motivation.

Another successful DESERT SCALE CLASSIC yesterday, with lots of positive feedback rolling in today!

Our Cactus Car Modelers team pulled off a great event in an outstanding new location!   Kudos to all who helped, and much gratitude to our good friends, vendors, and guests!

Everyone and everything made my day!

Always good to hear Good News

Thanks, the hospital she is in is a good one (and not far from home, and now work!).  This had been a bit of a crazy weekend too. Between being up late and early to help Dad with Mom the morning before she ended up.in the hospital, I got a hair cut, car washed and filled up, went to the C.A.R.S. club meeting on Saturday, spent much of the early morning Sunday at the hopital with the parents, went home, got a few hours of sleep and the went to the vistitation of another customer from the HTU I worked at that died the morning after Harry, then went and filled the car up again (both the club meeting and visitation were decent hauls), then went home and changed beforw going back to the hospital for a few hours (that also included naps for Mom, Dad, and Myself while there, lol).  I'd go to Harry's visitation, since he also had shopped in the HTU I worked at, but the schedule at my new place of work has kinda gotten in the way.

Thanks again, if I heard Dad right, she might end up back in the nursing home she had spent time in prior in the last couple years. It's a haul to get there compared to the hospital she is in right now (a whole 3 miles from home), but it too is a good place.
