iamsuperdan Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 My new truck has been serialized and has a production date set. So that's pretty cool. And the Canada Geese are back, so spring is just around the corner. Temps will be around 10 C through the weekend, which will be a pleasant change.
Hotrod 97 Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 (edited) Actually yesterday, but I took my F150 down to the drag races. There's a no-prep track down in WV that Dad and I go to often. Well, yesterday was the first time that I actually ran instead of just watched. Didn't run any classes, just test passes. Anyways, the real pleasing thing is that I almost outran a Chrysler 300 (SRT8, maybe? Not exactly sure, I just know it had some horsepower). The Chrysler only got me by half a car, which is a milestone for my ol' truck (both of us made clean passes). Last year the truck couldn't keep up to SUVs, now she holds her own against performance cars. I guess I should add that we did some work to it over the winter, so it's a bit different from what it was last year. Edited March 21, 2022 by Hotrod 97 Added a sentence 1

I want to go there the next time I hear that JJ Da Boss's traveling circus comes to town. They were there a few years ago but I didn't know anything about it till I saw it on TV.
stavanzer Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Super Dan. Any news on your truck? (or is it too soon to ask?)

The first time we went down there was the event after JJ's race, and we didn't know it. I remember watching that episode of Street Outlaws and thinking "hey, that's the airport at Berkeley Springs!" lol
stitchdup Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 My sisters cat got run over tonight which didn't please me. What pleased me was the young lass driving actually stopped and went followed the cat to see where it went to hide. She then went door to door to find the owners. By the time she got to mum and they went out to get the cat, he had run off to hide again (a cats natural reaction to getting hurt is to hide) Within 10 minutes half the villiage mum lives in were out searching in heavy rain for the cat too and stayed out for the entire 2 hours it took to find sunny. The cat is now at the vets and has a suspected broken leg or pelvis but we have to wait until tomorrow to get an xray. The lass that hit the car was completely devasted so another of the neighbours drove her home and took her father back to pick up her car. It was just an accident but the community showed what community means which is pretty awesome 4

But they cant do anything until the he pees. If he doesn't pee it might not be good news but I'm hopeful. The vets here are good so I've got everything crossed. The same vets uncle fixed one of our previous cats that was in much worse shape and she lived another 14 years. sunny is only 2 and a half so hopefully his youth helps 1
Rob Hall Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Actually, yesterday...was at my office yesterday for only the 4th time (I've been a 100% remote employee for just over a year), for a meeting because my company was announcing getting acquired by a larger company, should be good....also had my annual review, and was pleasantly surprised to get a promotion and a 15% raise which I really wasn't expecting. 1
Smoke Wagon Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Felt my son make some big kicks today. He’s sure been a squirmy little dude.

bobthehobbyguy Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Not today but Monday. Had a visit with my cardiologist. My blood pressure, cholesterol and A1c1 are both improved tremendously. Losing(50lbs) weight and making major dietary changes have paid off. Was taking a liptor generic but starting having problems with sore joints thus the dietary changes. Also because of the weight loss my dosage of blood pressure meds had to be reduced (office reading was 115/60) so the adjustments are at the right level now. As a result my next visit is 6 months which is a milestone. Now to get back to the bench to get some projects finished. 1

stavanzer Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Riley, it is very true! My Son is now 26. His wedding in in October! But, I am so deeply proud of the Man he has grown into. WE do not always agree on everything, but he is a thoughtful, hardworking Man. I am glad to have raised him. Mu own Father is 85 an has advancing Alzheimer's. It is so odd to be in the middle of both ends of life.
Smoke Wagon Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Congratulations to your son, Alan. Sounds like he was raised right no doubt. Sorry about your father’s health however. It’s an accomplishment in itself to make into your eighties though.
