On the couch, my pug laying on her blanket. I'm listening to Eagles Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975),my coffee and the work light and magnifying light on and sanding down interior panels.

Happy as a clam!

I've noticed lately that it's getting hard to get up from the chair, and I find walking boring, so that's why I decided to drag out that old "barn find" '74 Sting Ray bike I sent you the pics of and light 'er up. The tires hold air and I duck-taped the seat into usability so I've been riding it. I live at the bottom of a little hill. The other day it took just about everything I had to get to the top of that hill, and in low gear, no less!  Did it again today and it was about the same. The plan is to keep doing it every day until it's not that bad, and then ride it all the way around the block, and then down to the Post Office every day (about a half mile each way). Hope to be there in a couple weeks or so. And THEN I'll dig out my REAL bike (a 10-speed mountain bike) and start doing it for real. Hey, baby steps, right? ;)B)

Looked like rain today, so I decided to get my "baby steps" ride in early. It wasn't as bad as yesterday. At the top of the hill, I actually thought I'd go back and do it again, but just then the rain started and I was afraid it would put out my cigarette. Maybe tomorrow. ;)?

Yah, I know, and...SHADDUP!

Oh, the other thing that pleased me today was watching Tricia win Street Outlaws Fastest in America 4. You might remember that it was only a year ago that she was horribly injured in that horrendous fiery crash with JJ for America's List. It was a real "Cinderella story." I was so happy for both of them I nearly cried with joy. :D?

Snake, man.... I've got a little machine that rolls smokes for you. All you need is a bag of tobacco and a box of filters. A carton's worth of cigarettes now costs me about $12..... Huge savings rolling your own.  B)

Cool, I'll check into that. And guess what--I don't even need the filters! B)

Man after my own heart. These days I'll usually smoke less than a pack a year, but if I smoke at all, it's unfiltered Camels or Luckies when I can find 'em.  :D

I started smoking Camels in 1974, ironically as a way to cut down/quit. (It didn't work.) When the prices started getting outrageous, I switched down to a generic brand, and then a cheaper generic brand, and then a cheaper generic brand still. Have been through Pyramids, then Eagles, now on Sonomas. When I started smoking, a whole carton of Camels cost about what I'm paying now for one pack of the cheapies, buying them by the carton. Oh well, in a world where we're paying $40 for $2 model cars and $2 for a 10-cent bottle of Testor enamel and $9 for a 69-cent can of spray paint, what do you expect?

Here's my set-up, Snake man.... You just load your tobacco into the machine, pop the lever down, and an auger sends the smoke into the tube/filter. It's better quality cigs than the el cheapo's. The filter tells the auger when to stop, so you can do both lengths........

Load it up, tear off the filter, and there you go......

It was cloudy and rainy/drizzly/nasty looking all day. But when I got up from my nap about 5:30, the sun was shining and it looked quite pleasant out. Seized by a Fit of Industry, I grabbed the bike and did another "baby steps" ride to the top of the hill. Felt so good I immediately did a second one!  That makes THREE in a day! For me, that's a full-on Fitness Binge! B)

Saw this guy sitting on our fence this morning. They have a nest in the next door neighbours tree. I bet they do a lot more to control the local vole population than the lazy freeloading stray cats in the neighborhood.

For the first time in about 30 years, I needed dental work done. Had a small cavity that needed fixing.

So easy this time. Zero pain, super efficient. Barely even uncomfortable. Was pleasantly surprised.

Although, my face is still numb and I'm drooling like a halfwit. Just managed to get tea all over my desk while taking a sip. ?

I threw away my gunked up can of rustoleum red gloss enamel yesterday after work and bought some dupli color paints, primer, sealer, and filler. So far I have no regrets. :)

Friday marked 6 weeks since the installation of my pacemaker.  Saturday I did a little bit of yardwork and today I trimmed and cut the grass.  Feeling pretty good - for an old guy.  Tomorrow I plan to do some general weeding.

Good news Jim but pace yourself and don't overdo !

It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining, birds are singing, air smells like wild roses and honeysuckle.

I have too much paperwork to get through today to take a hike, but I slipped the leash long enough to walk the 2 miles to the store and back.

Fixin' to have a tomato sandwich for lunch. Life is good.   :D

EDIT: I find it helps me deal with big, difficult things to be mindful and thankful for the small things.

I haven't had a tomato sandwich in a long time. Summer weather is a good time for that. Maybe an onion and tomato sandwich. ?

It's definitely the little things... that balance me.

Not planning on it Ray.  I sure don't want to go through heart issues again.
