Ace-Garageguy Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Waking up in Spain and spending the day with my granddad and his new wife riding mopeds on mountainroads. Way much more fun than our Belgian flat ground! Alicante, very nice to visit Ooh and don't forget Guadalest, a vintage town waaaaay up in the mountains. Now THAT sounds like a very good day.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) Beautiful weather here...low humidity, 75 deg.F, no wind. Got the self-etching primer on the '28 Ford / Ardun dry-lakes build, got it sanded and got a couple coats of high-build on too. And somebody gave me a mystery fan they took off of some oddball hot-rod. It turned out to be the one I needed for the '86 Jag XJ-6 (the OEM plastic one exploded and took out the radiator, etc.) So now I may just get her running again and forget about engineering a custom shroud and electric fans for a while. cobraman Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Going to the Desert Scale model show and meeting some of the fine folk here. Very nice time.
FullPowerGarage Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Now THAT sounds like a very good day. Yes indeed! But I would have rather had my Suzuki GT50 to drive there but you can't have anything. To end my day I'm sitting in the bar, drinking a sweet cold Cola and listening live music. Too bad my best girlfriend is in Belgium.

The exact same thing happened to our Jaguar.
Tom Geiger Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) NNL East preparations... DONE! We had our final meeting before the show and everyone showed up... actually more than everyone, some folks brought additional helpers with them! We started two hours early and when I pulled into the parking lot at 11am, I could barely get in with all the cars. No doubt our most attended meeting of the year! We packaged up the Model Car Garage / NNL East souvenir license plates and our special NNL East gift for everyone this year. Then we had a long, two sided assembly line for the Goody Bags. Then we ate eight pizzas and fifty pieces of chicken! Great meeting, everyone is excited and ready for the show. What a team! Edited April 12, 2015 by Tom Geiger

Hey, Tom, I have a question for you, that I couldn't find an answer to on the NNL East website. Will motorcycle models be accepted for display? Thanks!
Tom Geiger Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Will motorcycle models be accepted for display? Yes! Bring 'em, probably best place is the Misc category. As this isn't a contest, we've kept categories to a minimum, so there isn't a specific cycle class.

Joe Handley Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Been putting a few miles on those new BFG's Igot for the 200......sooooo much better than the factory LS2's,
charlie8575 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 We picked up my mother's car from the body shop for its 200k mile make-over. Some rust, dents, and a badly faded paint job all addressed. I was very pleased with the work, and my mother was quite happy, too. Now to do the struts and a couple of small repairs, and keep on drivin'. Charlie Larkin

I saved a few photos as idea references. Some mighty fine looking stuff in there.
cobraman Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Found out today that a kit I ordered from Japan almost a month ago is finally in transit. Oh happy day !
Mike_G Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Caught 4 nice trout, including a couple of 16-inchers
unclescott58 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Caught 4 nice trout, including a couple of 16-inchers IMGP4286.JPG So when are you inviting me over for a nice trout dinner? Scott
Mike_G Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 So when are you inviting me over for a nice trout dinner? Scott Fish fry at Mikes !!! The smaller ones are actually better for pan-frying, I like to fillet and smoke the bigger ones. I still have around 20 trout in my freezer left over from last year- I vacuum-pack them so they keep real good. I like to catch big fish http://www.zrxoa.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=188872&stc=1&d=1377033737
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I like to... smoke the bigger ones. I tried to smoke a trout once, but I couldn't keep the damm thing lit. Must take a real man to smoke a ham.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Got my Fujimi Watanabes! They look great!
Danny Lectro Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I tried to smoke a trout once, but I couldn't keep the damm thing lit. Must take a real man to smoke a ham. I like to smoke mozzarella. It's hard to keep it going once it starts to melt, but it's worth it!
