Tom Geiger Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Thanks guys! This was 2 years ago... the nested on the bend in the rain leader. There's an L in the house there, so we could take pictures from an upstairs window. This was last year... right on the window sill. Couldn't have had a better view. And right before they took off.
Roadrunner Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Slowly but surely, the pieces seem to be coming together on a new AM venture (not automotive related) I'm putting together, and that pleases me immensely.
mikemodeler Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I just got word this afternoon that Portillo's will be building a new restaurant 'bout 7 miles from my house and plans to open this November. That's kinda pushin' it, but it can be done. Plan is to hire 200 workers, and sorry to say that they won't hire me, as I would eat up all their profits. Oh well. I should watch my youthful (?) figure. Heard about that too and am glad that I moved away from the area 10 years ago, otherwise I would probably have already had open heart surgery! I always stop at Portillo's when I am back in Chicago and I have a few friends who love to send me pictures of a Chicago dog or their delish Beef Sammich!
High octane Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I too send food pics to my buddy in the Denver area who is a Chicago native, and he used to bring home on the airplane beef sandwiches and hot dogs when he came back to Chicago to visit his mom.
Joe Handley Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Mom should finally be coming home from the nursing facility she is currently in tomorrow!!!!! Between 3 of these facilities and the hospital, she's been gone for a loooooooong 3 1/2 months and Dad has been by her side the whole time (many times, literally days at a time!), my Sister and I were there when ever we had a day off or got out of our jobs early enough to not conflict with their visting hours. It'll be nice to have her home, and we'll all probably pass out from exhaustion shortly after we get her situated too!

Tom Geiger Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I was pleased to go to my meeting of the Tri-State Scale Model Car Club today! Due to the nice weather, attendance was small but that was a good thing. We all sat around one long table, got some food and had a meal and one conversation. It was really nice! Afterwards we went to Avenel Hobbies, which is closing by the end of this month. Owner Randy was friendly and thanked us all for many years of patronage. That part was sad. I bought some nice stuff, which I will show tomorrow in the "What I got today" thread as soon as day light allows me to take photos.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 today, yesterday, day before, day before that & that.....great way to end the day.... Looks like heaven to me...

Joe Handley Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Just got Mom home from the nursing home, first time she's been home in 3.5 months!
High octane Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Caravaning to a car show early this morning, showing our cars, soaking up the sun, enjoying the music, enjoying the other cars, and people watching.
Roadrunner Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I have a new HP flatbed scanner coming to replace one that died, and that pleases me a bunch.
martinfan5 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 It hasn't rained yet today... And that irks me that it hasnt rained here today
Roadrunner Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 And that irks me that it hasnt rained here today It's all a matter of perspective I guess. June was the highest recoded rainfall ever, here in St Louis, but at the same time, California is dry as toast, and the millionaires are stealing water.
High octane Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 It pleased me that it didn't rain here today and I got my lawn cut, and attended a cruise night tonight that had a great turnout as well.

chunkypeanutbutter Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 The music in Fallout 3 makes the game so much better.
