blunc Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Thanks for sharing your photos mike. Have to add this show to my list. Are the results going to be posted? The "powers that be" (whom I would expect to be rather tired) will have to supply that info, I did not record that.
Danno Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Outstanding pictures, Mike! Thanks for sharing them. I'll post results in a little bit. As mentioned, the word 'tired' is an understatement. {Many dragons slayed yesterday.}
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Understand the tired part. Just wasn't sure if you were planning to post the results. Anybody else got pictures of the show?
Bill J Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Awesome pics, thank you for sharing them with us. I really enjoyed the contest and swap meet and talking with everyone there. Glad everyone enjoyed the contest. There were some amazing models entered and some super people in attendance. Good job Bernie, Dan and all of the Cactus Modelers Club members. Let's do it again next year
gasser59 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Anybody else got pictures of the show? Still loading and resizing them. I'll get completed later tonight and post a link. As for name tags, next year I'll have blank stickers so we can do this when checking in. Edited April 12, 2015 by gasser59
curt raitz Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Still loading and resizing them. I'll get completed later tonight and post a link. As for name tags, next year I'll have blank stickers so we can do this when checking in. Great Idea... I plan on making it down next year. Has a date been set?

Danno Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 DSC is presented by the Cactus Car Modelers Club. Something we do at Desert Scale Classic: Most of the judges for the critically-judged competition are club members. We do not allow club members to enter or compete against our guests in the critically-judged competition. However, we stage a simultaneous 'peoples choice' style contest for our club members and we encourage the spectators, guests, and competitors to 'judge' the club members' entries by voting in certain categories. We tally all the votes, and the club members win awards. Results: Peoples Choice Best Engine - Steve Prideaux ('74 Corvette Road Racer) Peoples Choice Best Interior - Jeff Alderman ('69 McLaren M8B Can Am Racer) Peoples Choice Best Detail - Steve Prideaux (Bonneville Belly Tanker, Trailer, and Hauler) Peoples Choice Best Paint - Raoul Coulombe ('70 Plymouth Road Runner) Peoples Choice Best of Show - Jeff Alderman ('77 Lotus Type 78 F-1 Racer) Many thanks to all who took time to examine our club entries and cast ballots.

Randy D Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) I want add my 2 cents about the DSC......What an AWESOME show!!! The Cactus Modelers put a lot of effort into this and it really showed. The venue was unique and very cool. The quality of the models was outstanding. I just wish the host club's display area would have been larger, alot of great models there. The 1:1 bikes and car displayed outside were great. The highlight for me was meeting some of the folks that I see on this forum. I have to thank Steve Prideanx , Mike Cassidy and Chris Sobak for talking about their models with me. I got to meet Joe Goss , Ray Kunn and Greg Meyers. John Teresi and Art Laski are so talented yet so humble. Brad Norgaard and Danno made me feel like part of the family the moment I got there. I even found some goodies to buy ! Thanks to the guys for posting all the pics above. I'm coming back for sure! Randy Edited April 13, 2015 by Randy D
Nitrozilla Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) I think I've recovered enough to comment now. What a great show !!!! Organized, efficient, well run and it seems everybody had fun doing it. Thank you Bernie and Danno and the other men and women who made my visit so memorable. The raised table height was genius. The level of competition was incredible and awesome. I'm stepping up my game for next year. Congratulations to the winners, if you took home some black & gold it was truly deserved. A shout out to all of my new Styrene Addict type friends, and the really really old ones. (There's something about a kettle and a pot that might apply here............) See y'all next year, but be prepared 'cause I'm coming with a plan. Edited April 13, 2015 by Nitrozilla
AzTom Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I too want to thank the group for a great show and enjoyed seeing everyone. We were busy selling most of the day and although I met a lot of new builders I don't know if they are on here. I hope we can get a badge system for next year.
