chunkypeanutbutter Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Revell Austin Gasser and Revell Ford Anglia Dragster. AMT made an AC Cobra, not sure if they still make it.
sjordan2 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I had a mid-50s large-scale Ford Anglia kit, but I've never been able to track another one. It was at least 1/12, as I remember.
John Goschke Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The Doyusha Aston-Martins are wildly inaccurate in basic body shape. Virtually worthless. Premier made a rather goofy 1/24-25th kit of a mid-'50s Anglia.
blunc Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) MPC produced 1/32 scale 1911 Rolls and a Crowley that had black vinyl tires for the "hot rod" parts. Also a European IMSA Capri and VW. Edited September 25, 2014 by blunc
Art Anderson Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Add to this list: Jaguar D-type, 1/24 scale, Strombecker MGA Twin Cam 1/24 scale, Strombecker Rolls Royce Phantom II Henley Roadster, 1/24 scale Monogram Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Touring Car 1/32 scale, Revell MG TC, 1/32 scale, Revell Aston Martin DBR 1/24 scale, Merit, Smer Humber Drop Head Saloon 1/32 scale, Airfix (FM Montgomery's WW-II staff car, but a stock Humber) Heller produced the BMW Dixi in 1/24 scale, which was the Austin Seven, built under license, and I believe very much a copy of the UK-built car, save for left hand drive?) Jaguar E-type Coupe, 1/25 scale Aurora, later reissued by Monogram Jaguar E-type Roadster, 1/25 scale Aurora Jaguar E-type Roadster, Revell 1/25 scale (completely Revell, issued about 1965, also by Advent) Jaguar XK-120, 1/10 scale (?), Doepke metal kit Jaguar XK-120 Coupe (approximately 1/20 scale) Ideal Toy Corporation (yes, this was a plastic model kit!) MG TC 1/10 scale (?) Doepke metal kit Austin/Nash/AMC Metropolitan 1/25 scale Hubley The only differences between the US Metropolian and those sold in the UK, were the grille badge, script on the right front fender, hubcap emblems, and LHD vs RHD. Ford Prefect 1/25 scale Premier (crude, but noticeably a Prefect) Rolls Royce Silver Ghost "Balloon Car", 1/16 scale, Bandai Triumph Spitfire GT 1/25 Lindberg Art Art Edited September 25, 2014 by Art Anderson
Casey Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Harry, can we please create a dedicated section here on the forum strictly for reference posts such as these? Maybe delete/modify the Trivia section since that seems to have run its course?
DonW Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Blimie. Quite comprehensive. Ta. Greg - it's 'blimey' in these parts! No offence, guv'nor!
Snake45 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I might have missed it, but I didn't see the Aston Martin DB5 by Aurora. Also I have a Ford Capri racer by some Japanese company. It seems a bit small for 1/25 but too big for 1/32--seems to be somewhere in between.
Rob Hall Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Some Airfix 1/32 kits were sold in the US as reboxed MPC kits. The Jaguar 420 is one I know of.
Greg Myers Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Greg - it's 'blimey' in these parts! No offence, guv'nor! Ooops, for years in East Anglia , Norfolk '57- '61
bigphoto Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Do not forget all the 1/43 kits out there as the list would be at least twice as big.

Edsel-Dan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The Revell XJ-s Coupe Snap kit was also offered in a standard (No License) box I have it molded in Silver
Matt Bacon Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 ...I'm not covering dedicated race cars like the T-70 (well, actually, I am a bit, with Lotuses and Jags, but...). It's not my normal build theme, and if I open THAT door, someone will want the Group C cars, and then it's only a small step to the F1 cars and an argument over which ones are built in the UK (the clue... almost all of them!). If someone wants to start a "Great British Race Cars Kit Inventory" then they are more than welcome... bestest, M.
peekay Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 This one in 1.32nd from Tomy, later also Hasegawa, is one of the finest kits in my collection. Not to be confused with the Matchbox kit, it has diecast, plastic and photo-etch parts plus fine wire-mesh parts for the grille and light covers. Also the windshield has a chrome printed frame, something I've only seen on Tomy kits.
Snake45 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 He has it listed under Monogram, who owns the tooling Art Oh that's right--they reverted the tooling to the DB4.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Notice the Cortina taillamps on that Lola?

Tom Geiger Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Revell Austin Gasser and Revell Ford Anglia Dragster. AMT made an AC Cobra, not sure if they still make it. Gotta add in the Thames Panel drag car by Revell
