Edsel-Dan Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) Lucas, I am Unemployed, (No Money coming in), I am at my Local Library for Internet access using a TOWER, Not Laptop. ratdoggy Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Ollies by me is practically cleaned out I should have bought more than 4
tbill Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 buddy at work went to another store, he picked me up another impala, another challenger and a couple of 71 mustangs. David, the raminator is 1/24th scale.
1930fordpickup Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Did anyone that picked up the slot cars get an extra 70 Camaro slot car kit?
turbo nova Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Did anyone that picked up the slot cars get an extra 70 Camaro slot car kit? no but Im positive the one by me still has em, the slot cars havent been moving at all, I be interested in swapping for some of the kits they didnt have here.
Thatswhatshesaid Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Does anyone know what they have at the Radcliff or Bowling Green, KY locations?
tbill Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 the slot cars at 'my location' didn't seem to be moving much, I know they had the Camaro, a ford [not sure which one, sunliner/styliner? not a ford guy] I think 57 chevy and maybe a few others, if anyone is interested, I could make a trip there this weekend and maybe pick up a few if still there. lemme know via pm and I will see what's there.
Thatswhatshesaid Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Plenty of slot cars left in Bowling Green. A few Dodge Dakotas, Dodge Charger, 62 impala and the 25 Ford I think?
Johnt671 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I went back to the Ollies in Hazleton, PA yesterday and got the 62 Chevy and Kurtis midget. I was glad I went back because they didn't have the Kurtis the other times I went. They still have a pretty good selection left, but not as big a selection as last week. Now I need to stay out of there.
Nacho Z Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I went back to my local Ollie's last night. They had new models that were not there last time I went. They had Minicraft models. Airplanes mostly. There were a few Space Shuttles, Morgan 3-wheelers and some figure models. They still has a good selection of the original car models.
deuces wild Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I'm going back again and see what they have left over by me...
deuces wild Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 ....Well I pick up 2 more kits.. The '75 McEwen Duster flopper kit and another '62 Impala 2n'1 kit.. Then I drove across the street to Nankin hardware and picked up the Revell '58 Vette kit and the '70 Torino..
karbuildr Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Glad I checked out this thread, good information here, thanks to all. I just found out today there's an Ollie's opening right down the street from me on 10/29/2014.
o-man Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I went back today and picked up one of the midget racer kits. Surprisingly, they still had 5 or 6 left
Tom Geiger Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I guess nobody has figured out the source for this hoard? Since it is kits from multiple manufacturers, it has to be someone large at the distribution level... maybe Hobbico?
tbill Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I was wondering that myself, must have been a huge hoard of stuff stuffed in the warehouse to supply all the stores [or most of them anyway].
rmvw guy Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Thanks for all the information here, I had never heard of Ollie's, we have one in a near by town about 20 miles away. I picked up two kits at $8 each and will be back for more. Would love to get some midget racers, they didn't have any here.
blubaja Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I guess nobody has figured out the source for this hoard? Since it is kits from multiple manufacturers, it has to be someone large at the distribution level... maybe Hobbico? Are these all kits Hobby Lobby would stock?
Tom Geiger Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Good thought Frank. Maybe they emptied some national warehouse? Did they ever stock Mini Craft?
Art Anderson Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Good thought Frank. Maybe they emptied some national warehouse? Did they ever stock Mini Craft? Doubt it was Hobby Lobby, as they really don't have that broad a line of model car kits. More than likely, a wholesaler decided for whatever reasons, to clear out a bunch of unsold stock. Art

Art Agreed......someone at the distributor level.......but since I am not in the retail end any longer.....who knows.....
martinfan5 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Not disagreeing , but I just want to point out that Hobby lobby has a much greater selection than the "71" different kits at Ollies.
ratdoggy Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Is Ollies restocking the kits or once a store is empty that's it?
deuces wild Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Hope they'll re-stock with a bigger selection... :)
