No joke!, personally I would have gone the other way and put a wound up 4 banger in it, and gone for kind of an early hot hatch vibe. I may have a stab at a model to that effect, if I can find a suitable tranny to match up to the 2.0 engine from the Revell Focus SVT kit.

The II's were light enough, that I've no doubt it would still be really quick even with 280 to 300 bhp. If I were doing it for real I'd be looking very hard at a 2.0 Cosworth Duratech, being a lifelong rally fan nothing screams epic 4 pot like Cosworth.

I like it! Looks like the fenders have been opened up to take real wheels and tires, and the rear end has been bobbed.

I have always liked Mustang II's, but that one is ugly

I also love the IIs!! I've owned a couple , and still own one now. I've watched videos on Youtube of this car, I've seen much uglier cars than this, but at least this build showcases the untapped potential of these long overlooked...and under loved Mustangs!!!

Naaaahhhh... that's not a Mustang II. THIS is a Mustang II:

...and it's really not ugly...

;-P

I think the hood air-scoop is essential to the look, and on this one the rear wing/fins actually make a significant contribution to the aerodynamics...

I like it better than most of the Pintostangs I've seen, and much better than the original version, which I always thought of as a girl's car...(my apologies to those of you who like them).

I also think the V-10 is silly in it, but a hot EcoBoost 4-cylinder could make a nicely balanced, fast car.

Any kind of droptop is a girl's car.

How'd that comment get in here? Ford never offered a Mustang II drop top. And I guess I must be a girl. I like drop tops and Mustang IIs. Yet I like girls and they seem to like me. Speaking of drop tops. I'd like to Farrah with her top dropped on that Mustang II above.

Well I think that most Foxbodies are girl cars, but any car can be a girl car.

I have seen a whole lot of women drive the SN95 Mustangs too, even the GT's, but really, any of the "slow" versions of a given generation of Mustang could be seen as girls cars. Does surprise me at the number of Women I see driving GT's as well as the Cooper versions of the Mini.

I loved the Mustang II and Farrah was a beautiful woman. I had her poster on my wall as a young teen...
