JJ Deuce Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Dang this thread. I went and preordered one of each.
Rob Hall Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I think I want to do a '69 stepside..with the basic white bumpers and grille.
Platerpants Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Anyone know what engine is in the longbed? I believe the 390
thatz4u Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 It's May and the countdown calendar is running.........
Platerpants Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Im really starting to get the itch to build this truck to fill in one of the generation gaps. I know im missing the 3rd, 4th, 7th & 8th gens. but 8th and 9th are so close in everything but front bumper grille and headlights that I really dont consider them seperate.
gray07 Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Jake check out, fordtruckfanatics.com you will like it, its all about ford trucks
SteveG Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I got my production sample today, they should be showing up in your favorite hobby shop or online in the next few weeks. I'll be starting a preview buildup ASAP. Watch for it in the On The Workbench Section. -Steve
tbill Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Cool! I pre pre-ordered 2 of each, can't wait to see your build up.
thatz4u Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 (edited) can not wait You'll HAVE to wait a couple of weeks yet!...... Edited May 12, 2015 by thatz4u
SteveG Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 .... and the rest of the contents except the decals which I forgot to photograph.
Rob Hall Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 (edited) Two sets of wheel covers? Looks like 2 sets of five spoke wheel covers.. these and these Edited May 12, 2015 by Rob Hall
mk11 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 That second set is actually a 5 spoke mag. Check out Chuck's yeller truck pics earlier in this thread... mike
Platerpants Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I beleive chuck said he used amt parts pack wheels though.
kelson Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 That looks impressive!,i'm sure this buildup will help sell a few extra kits!are the plans to build this stock?
Jantrix Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I think the amount of shop trucks, work trucks, and weathered beaters that will be made from this kit will be staggering. In my opinion, it is not an aesthetically appealing truck. The kit does look great though. I'm looking forward to what you guys do with it.
mk11 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 The mags are clearly on the chrome tree and he actually did say tires mike
SteveG Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 The mags are clearly on the chrome tree and he actually did say tires mike Mike's is correct, it does come with two set of wheels. Open steel wheels with separate spoke wheel covers and the 5 spoke mags wheels. I guess you could leave the wheel covers off and have a third choice. Steve
Chuck Most Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 The five spokes are from the kit, I used AMT tires, though... which, by the way, fit the Moebius wheels pretty well.
my80malibu Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Is it mandatory to use the side spears? I want to build a custom not a Ranger. Does Anyone have any Ideas on how to lower the front I Beams?
