YBlock292 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 The 1962 Dodge Dart 440 is another build of my Jo Han collection. I built the kit already four years ago. I still remember when Jo Han kits were on sale in hobby shops here in Germany in the late 1970s. Today they are hard to get here and in most cases they are expensive too if You find one!
gtx6970 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 You do know,,,,,Taking pics of the 1/1 in front of the garage doors isnt fair Ya gotta love a 62 Dodge,,,a face only a mother could love. One of my favorite cars . And you did it justice
peekay Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Nice work - I specially like the way you've done the dash and the tail lights.
Watertown Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Nice job on the build. I too had a difficult time understanding where these cars fit in until I saw this video. I now have a keen desire to locate this kit so as to recreate the "asphalt elephant,"
Danno Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Beautiful model!! Great job on the foiling and you NAILED the rear quarter panel louvers! (That in itself is a rare accomplishment.)
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Very cool Ludwig! You don't see a lot of these built, but I'm sure almost ever serious builder/collector probably has one in his stash. One of those faces that only a mother could love! Great work on it!! Steve
FASTBACK340 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 BEAUTIFUL build! I too owned one just before I found my Barracuda, and immediately sold it as I really wanted the `Cuda. Odd-looking car that definitely stands out! Really nice paint, foil, and detail work.
Monty Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Wow, very nice work on this one, Ludwig. Quick question: How did you separate the headlight from the bezel? It makes the car look much more authentic than leaving it the way JoHan intended,
Mike_G Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Wow, very nice work on this one, Ludwig. Quick question: How did you separate the headlight from the bezel? It makes the car look much more authentic than leaving it the way JoHan intended, Looks like he detailed it with a fine marker
Sixties Sam Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Very nice Dart! Looks great in red. That's one of my favorite cars. So ugly, it's beautiful! Sam
W-409 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 This is probably the best looking Dodge Dart of all time. What you said of those Jo-Han kits is true, I have the same situation here in Finland where they are not easy to find either. Good work getting this one to look right! Smooth and shiny paint job looks good, but I think your sharp BMF work really finishes it off. Nice and clean work all over. This makes me want to place an order to MCW - I need one resin Sedan body to create Ramchargers' Factory Experimental Drag Car...
Harry P. Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Nice job on one of the wackiest looking Mopars of all time...
YBlock292 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Thank You very much! It really was not easy getting the BMF correctly done on the special Body shape of the Dart. @ Mike_G: I gave a very thin black washing with a very thin brush to that litte circle which separates the headlight from the surrounding bezel. Ludwig
bbowser Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Beautiful work, I learned to drive in one of these. Push-button auto, slant-six. Me and my high school buddies beat the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of that car but it never died. I would really like to hear more about your garage door backround?
High octane Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Very nice job on that Dodge Dart Ludwig, as I just love dem Mopars! I don't see why people think the '62 is so ugly, when I really think that in '61 both Dodge & Plymouth came out with the "ugliest" car bodies they have ever done. Makes me want to dig out my '62 Dart from my stash.
