Ron Hamilton Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Whew!!!! I finally finished one. It seems that I have been working on this one forever. It is based on the newly tooled Revell kit, to which I made a few changes, which were chronicaled in the under construction section. I finally finished it as a "day two" car, which was purchased through Yenko Chevrolet in Cannonsburg, PA, with the addition of Lakewood traction Bars, and 14 x 7 Cragar SS wheels, mounted on Firestone Red Line Wide Oval Tires. As I have bult '67 Camaros from AMT (annual, and later tool), and this one both kits have their plusses and minuses, but overall, I liked the way this one came out. It took a litttle more work to get it where I wanted it, but I am happy with the results.
Belugawrx Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Nicely done Ron Love the ...is that nantucket blue? ..colour! Cheers
Snake45 Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Very nice! Possibly the best looking one of these I've seen yet. Whoseever grille you used, it's a huge improvement over the kit backbirth. And after looking at yours and several other completed ones, I'm thinking that the kit wants to mount the front bumper just a hair too low. Something to keep in mind if/when I ever get around to building mine. Thanks for the great pics of a great build.
bbowser Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Beautiful build Ron. Love the color choice. X2

I took the route of doing a little reshaping to my standard when I blocked the car for mould lines and hard edges. I made the grille surround out of sheet plastic to fit the Model Car Garage Photoetch Grille. When I was building this car, I took a look at the two AMT '67's original 1967 annual, the '90's issue which I turned into an SS 396, the MPC '68, which I am combining with the Revell '69, and photos from various magazines and web photos, including an original '67 Camaro Brochure, several Camaro Books, and my memory of the cars as I had a couple of friends with them when I was younger. I read your comments concerning this kit, and made some of the mods you wrote about, as well as tailoring the kit to my liking. Thanks everyone for the comments. Now on to the next "victim".
