Revell, in my opinion hit a home run with one of their latest ideas. The build and play snap tite kits.post-8992-0-90333600-1424050244_thumb.jpYesterday was model building day with "Papa". I've been working some time with my 7year old grandson on his project. His 4 year old brother wanted one of his own, so off to the hobby shop we went. We found this model for $12.95 which he was not only able to assemble by himself, but was able to play with afterward, like any 4 year old would want to do. Revell if you see this, thank you. These kits are great for kids with little or no skills yet want to be able to do their own model.post-8992-0-65533600-1424050877_thumb.jp This may not be what us 50 something year olds want, but we have to remember that we aren't the only ones involved in the hobby.

Yes, these are great!

My 6 year old loves his, he's done two already. I just noticed an Audi R8 at Walmart, and the stock Jeep TJ should be around soon too B)

Absolutely awesome! I'm going to have to look into those for my 3 and 5 year old grandsons next visit up north here.

I think it is very important to have a kit that is easy for youngsters to assemble and then be able to play with, all for a reasonable price. I applaud Revell for thinking about youngsters and the future of the hobby :)

There is another thread about attracting the next generation to the hobby. Revell is being very proactive with this series of kits. They are giving these away as promos at auto shows, as well as sponsoring Make and Takes across the country with these kits. Kudos to them and I'm happy to see that your actual field test was a success! :D

I'm happy to see this, I've already bought the Red Mustang and a TJ kit to build with the little guy my sister sometimes babysits for her friend, been debating about picking up the blue Audi to build with him too.

I think this is a great idea.

With a little time and some scratch-building, you can get a nicely-detailed model out of this, too. Or something really cool to do with a youngster, at the very least.

Great that you are sharing the hobby with your grand kids. Lets hope they stay with the hobby. This is a great kit for the reasons you pointed out. Even those of us that have been with the hobby longer may like it as a quick/stress free build. You could even do a bit of kit bashing and scratch building and come up with something really nice. Many kudos to Revell for seeing the need to market to the kids.

I see these flying off the shelf at my local HL. I have 4 girls and they have no interest in modeling at least yet. I still hope my son can have that boy he has been wanting.....

I really like the fact there making kits like these...kids are our future and some of the disabled guys I help can handle these well...blessings in surprise like the curbside kits.

That's great, keep that up and we got some new modelbuilders in a few years time :) I have already started with a little building with my two year old son aswell. He likes to assemble wheels, sits there with the a box full of tires and rims and is trying out different combinations on his own :)

my nephew built a snap 69 Camaro yesterday, he is 6, and as soon as he got that done he asked for another, woohoo another builder, and tell your grandson, model turned out great.

Reminds me of these, when I was a little older. Reading some of the reviews on these kits, they were also " Build N' Play" , although not marketed as such.mCsxOsG7cu1y3IkNiPy0ddQ.jpgRenwal%20556%20Patton%20NM.JPGm38LTfbzbRTlg2esFPAcC0Q.jpg$_35.JPG and, if you're interested, Revell is reissuing all of these and more.
