Drake69 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 You know.... it's model builds like this that give me a glimmer of hope.... that someday... ...I'll be good enough to do one up as gorgeous as this. No words, dude. No words can describe it.....
Matt T. Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 [wolf whistle] Wow, that is a honey of a Ford! Well done, Steve. Thanks for sharing the build with us.
BubbaJoe Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 woooow!!! that is a beautiful car...just outstanding.
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Thanks guys! The fun for me is taking these old annuals that were generally built so "horribly" back in the 50s & 60s & see what can be done with them with little more than what was in the box, with possibly a few added "goodies", some paint & foil, & a few of the more modern techniques. I think these guys got it "mostly" right back then. Although they do have their issues & can be a little challenged in the detail department, they can still make a pretty decent looking model. Steve
tbill Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 that is stunning, wow, just beautiful. well done sir.
Eric Macleod Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 "Sweet" can't even come close to the praise I have for this one. Fabulous build of a fabulous subject!
Maindrian Pace Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Proper! Isn't it amazing how well AMT captured the dimensions way back then? And those guys probably used slide rules.
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Proper! Isn't it amazing how well AMT captured the dimensions way back then? And those guys probably used slide rules. True! a lot of the older bodies were just as nice, if not nicer than the new stuff! The old Johan kits were amazing! Steve
gtx6970 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Proper! Isn't it amazing how well AMT captured the dimensions way back then? And those guys probably used slide rules. And thats what bothers me about A - taking 2 or 3 years to design and release a kit in todays enviroment . B - Even when taking multiple years to do a kit and its still wrong, Sorry for the rant. It tripped a trigger for me Back to this amazing 1958 Ford build.
John Goschke Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Don't know how I missed the conclusion on this one till now, but, wow, that came out nice! The blue top is an excellent choice!
Danno Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Stunning! No '58 Ford ever looked so good! Great work, Steve.
