  2. I have both the Amt and Revell kits, one thing which is odd on the amt kit is how the did the chrome headlamp buckets, that said their execution of the taillamps IMHO is better than Revell's. Cheers Luc
  3. Looks like fiddly work, for sure - back end is really coming together and the detail looks great!
  4. Yes, this is the problem with the current crop of "AI" word calculators, they have no frame of reference for what is factual. They just regurgitate words frequently seen together without knowing their actual meaning. There's no actual intelligence to the "intelligence".
  5. Got to love gizmology - you're off to a good start with your first big rig!
  6. It's an North American boxing, which for some reason (tarrifs maybe) ended up in Europe first.
  7. I used to buy a lot from eBay. I always had a separate credit card for purchases. That way we were protected from them getting our 'Main' account. But, that was about 10 years ago, so things may have changed. As others said, watch the vendors. If you have any doubts, you could always post a link to the auction in question to see if anybody here has dealt with the Seller. Getting Good Deals on eBay is a matter, of Patience, Timing & Luck. Back when I was buying stuff every month, and winning 18-35 auctions a month, I won about 25% of the bids I placed. So, If you are bidding on only one or two auctions, don't be surprised if you don't win them often. I'm not saying bid lots of times. I'm just saying that winning bids is a percentage game, and often the only way to substantially change the odds is to bid Higher than you may be comfortable with. So, I don't recommend bidding more than feel like you can spend. Since your past comments about your most wanted kits, seem to indicate that you really want some rare and potentially very spendy kits, patience will be your best tactic. You may bid and lose 7 or 8 times before you get the grail you want, at a price you can afford. Don't get discouraged. Play "eBay Grail Hunting" as a Video Game, rather than taking it too seriously, and you may be better off. Good Luck.
  8. I seem to remember that the LHS had them marked down to $3 and they still were a hard sell when the "U.S.A. Oldies" series was still current.
  9. Just found out the wheel opening trim for the Highway Star has been delivered, so that's awesome. Also those chrome exhaust tips didn't work out so we'll just have to return them and find something else.
  10. Not really. There wasn't much on the Fiero that was chromed in real life. Lots of black painted trim, though. I think in this instance, it works.
  11. Beautiful pro street Oldsmobile'
  12. Yeah I was really glad to have found this one; a couple months ago there was one for sale here in town, $25 bucks also unbuilt and complete, but the ad was posted two weeks before I saw it and then I missed out on it so when this one came up I couldn't pass it up.
  13. Yes, definitely look at sellers ratings! I generally won't buy from anyone with less than about a 98%........ Also, it might be just me who does this, but I try to buy kits from someone who deals mostly in model stuff. Sellers like consignment shops might get one kit in a month/year whatever and don't really know much about them. A seller that deals mostly in model stuff will know more about what they have......
  14. fines, GoFundMe opened
  15. I'm just a techno grouch full stop. Makes me think of the Evolution progression meme, from ape to missing link to human to human getting killed by an A.I. robot. Enjoy this analog life while it lasts, not a fan. But I will admit to using G00gle's version, to argue on Fascistbook with. This is also why I enjoy kitbashing.
  16. Grear lookin model!
  17. Did the other headlights to match. But I'm still having issues with the brakes! Front is leaking? All new NAPA calipers, having the mechanic who did my pickup do it, just been a pain getting the correct parts to begin with, then they are junk, ridiculous unless you pony up on aftermarket, not ready to rebuild the whole car.
  18. Beautiful GTO!
  19. Having just completed Revell's version ('99) I don't know that the mustang shelf needs a '97. Decals look nice though.
  20. Yesterday morning I looked at the almost useless iPhone weather app, no rain at all forecasted for 10 days, no clouds, 90º predicted high. The radio weather guy is usually more accurate. So I taunted Mother Nature, and had lunch in Seligman. Watched the thunderheads build up, everywhere else. I almost want to aim where the radar shows rain, sort of like a Hopi rain dance (I attended one years ago) but with a car. But alas, after I got home, it started to rain so I closed the pickup windows, then it stopped. Another area got 1/4" of rain. Pleased to see it's happening. Again phone app shows zero rain, radio guy said it's a higher chance today.
  21. Today
  22. Welcome aboard the forum, Travis!
  23. Diecast show and one model car a bad disappointment…
  24. I got a local 3d printer guy to resize and print the front grille and rear panel from the Andrey Bezrodney files
  25. The front splitter is made from plywood, with hardware store supports. The center console is also made of wood and looks it. The rear spoiler is made from old license plates. It's kind of terrible, and all kinds of awesome! Close. It's Stony Plain. I didn't see it at this show, but there's a white hardtop that is usually at all the local shows too.
